had a huge influence on me as a young adult and I wrote an article about that fact.

The article was published in a magazine titled, “Better———On Vinyl” (BOV) which is in its second year.

This magazine was created by Mandy and Sydney - two creative, entrepreneurial women. Sydney owns her brand, .studio and lives in NYC and Mandy owns her brand, and lives in Nashville.

Last Friday, they interviewed me for their upcoming podcast, “Call Her Crafty”. That experience was a trip! I am not comfortable talking about myself and got a wee emotional at one point. Made me think of that line from, “A League of Their Own”… “There’s no crying in (podcasting!)”

Thankful for professional and thoughtful hosts and… editing tools😂

Saturday night was the issue launch party which was so fun! Got to meet other contributors and get excited for the future of BOV!

Food, drinks, known shapes… those are my happy place to build. I don’t take my designs too seriously. Taking a known pattern or style and executing it with relaxation and imperfection- that is where I land most of the time.

So, I might make a big bottle of Ranch for a vase, or my new favorites are vintage inspired ashtrays. But I still don’t use any tools that help me avoid slight flaws because I don’t enjoy the results of being meticulous and precise.

My pieces are adorned with a lot of know how and beautiful glazes but they are not applied with perfection in mind. No way, no how.

Custom orders are fun for me – but with a few boundaries. If the custom request comes from someone who is familiar with my pieces and understands my design aesthetic, then I love to help them create a one of a kind item for themselves or to gift.

My process: you tell me what you want – and then I send a sketch and a quote for the total price. During the building and adornment process - I *sometimes send updates and process images. When I am hired to do a custom piece – I trust you to trust me.
 
I often don’t share custom orders publicly because when the gift is given is unknown to me. Not my place to ruin the surprise 😊
 
Finished pieces can be picked up on my porch in North Dallas or dropped off for a small fee when I am in your neighborhood next.

My pieces are well built with high quality porcelain and are food safe and dishwasher safe. If they have the addition of a luster glaze or 24K gold, they are food safe but will need to be hand washed for longevity.
