One last little sneak peek before I go pack up orders! (I love seeing the book stacks you build! 😍👏📚) For those who are looking for history resources—whether for the fall, or for fun—both World History and American History have some new titles to explore!
And remember, all of these books are 1) ones our own family has read, loved, and/or owned, 2) are living books written and illustrated for kids but do not talk down to them, and 3) are rescued very meticulously for a new family to use and love! All books are in like-new condition unless noted—I only choose copies I would keep for myself! ❤️

If you were walking into my actual cozy corner bookshop (a dream I do hold on to) on this sunny Saturday morning, I would be happily restocking some of these favorites to shelves already full of treasures. So, although I wish you could open the door to the ti**le of bells, with coffee in hand, and peruse restocked bookshelves while chatting with me about what you’re looking for—the next best thing I can do is show you the restocks in pictures and invite you to grab coffee and peruse my virtual bookshelves instead! 🥰📚☕️
Almost all of these are books we have already had in stock before and they are now added back into inventory. This means that you won’t necessarily find them on the “new arrivals” page…but they’re tucked into other Collections of Chapter Books and Picture Books. (Or you can always search by title or author!)
I KNOW online shopping is never as fun as an in-person book experience. So I appreciate your patience in perusing this way—and your support in buying small anyway! I think Instagram is trying to make us all crazy, with its added music, text on each photo, fast-paced reels...and now let’s add multiple captions on a post! 🫠

But what an even BETTER reason to choose BOOKS! Especially beauties that bring new knowledge…and simple JOY even from the shelves!

There are so many wonderful old series of books to collect in the world! And these are some of my favorites!

And speaking of favorites: Ballet + Eugene Field + Tasha Tudor + Art history = Chelsea’s HAPPY PLACE

Okay, friends, this is the last preview for this week—and goodness, by this point, I am reminded that I sure do love books more than social media! 😂 It just feels so loud around here most days. 🙃😬
So, before I go find quiet rest for the weekend 🥰, let me first say HAPPY INDEPENDENT BOOKSHOP DAY (on Saturday)! I am SO GRATEFUL to be a part of this little world of book-loving people, who care deeply about the written word and the power of stories…and invest their time and resources in building home libraries and sharing stories of all kinds with your people.

As a mom of many, who works in multiple different ways—I can fill every waking minute of my time VERY easily, as I’m sure can be said for many of you. So it feels like I have to carve in rest time, not to sleep, necessarily—but to let my mind simply slow down and savor.
So guess what one of my favorite “downtime combos” is? Books + Puzzles + Tea = True Quiet Rest for my heart and mind. 📚🧩☕️ It honestly feels like luxury when I can spend an afternoon or evening with these three, because time seems to slow wayyyy down.
So if there’s anything I want to share on the “shelves” of my shoppe, it’s tools to help YOU and YOUR family slow down and savor the power of a story and the joy of an unplugged activity.

Well, if you can’t tell, our little bookshop is catching up this month! We have had stacks and stacks of such delightful books, just patiently waiting for me to find time to share them with you! And I have been determined to move these treasures from storage to shoppe shelves!

I picked a song for this post called “Precious Moments” on purpose…because goodness, I TREASURE the era when these picture books were our daily diet! The years when so much was discovered in the lap of a parent and in the pages of these books. 🥹🤍

The online store is buzzing with BEAUTIFUL book stacks being added by the minute! And it was a long overdue restock for sure. 🥰

Wowwww, was this place a MESS!! 🫣😬🫠 I certainly did not finish March up with an award for tidiest bookshop. But, nevertheless, here we are at April, which is the time for FAIRY TALES to take center stage at the Story Shoppe! I just did a big restock today, with some beautiful copies of various tales, including beautifully illustrated classics, as well as lesser-known and hard-to-find tales from around the world.
And if you’re not a fairy tale reader? Never fear! Any of these are FANTASTIC starters to introduce your family to the adventures inside. As spring comes, it’s the perfect time for the inspiration to see the world in imaginative ways!
As Tolkien himself says, “the realm of fairy-story is wide and deep and high and filled with many things: all manner of beasts and birds are found there; shoreless seas and stars uncounted; beauty that is an enchantment, and an ever-present peril; both joy and sorrow as sharp as swords.” 🤩🏰🦄🐉👑🌟
