Spice of the Month: SPOG. Not fancy, not seasonal, not tied to any holiday. It's just the seasoning you reach for on a random Tuesday when dinner needs to happen and you don't have the energy to overthink it.

Salt, pepper, onion, garlic — that's it. Goes on eggs, chicken, roasted vegetables, popcorn, whatever's in front of you.

Everyday hero moment: SPOG Roasted Vegetables.

Not everything needs to be a competition dish. Some nights you just need dinner on the table in 30 minutes, and SPOG (salt, pepper, onion, garlic) does the seasoning work so you don't have to think about it. It's the proverbial Easy Button, right from Cousin Tony!

Cousin Tony's Corner: people ask us all the time how Texas Trail Dust got its name.

Short version: it started as the blend we made for a family gathering for which we made Brisket Burnt Ends. It was a hit. And if you've ever driven down a dirt road in Texas, you know that your car picks up the dust and goes with you everywhere. We decided to go with that theme of the dust that should go with you everywhere. And that's how the legend of Cousin Tony's Texas Trail Dust was born.

Before all that kicks in, make this: Jalapeño Ranch Chicken Salad. Light enough for the heat, packed with enough flavor that it doesn’t feel like diet food.
