While this weekend hasn't gone exactly as I'd planned, we had an epic family day yesterday! My middlest wanted to take a trip to Peoria to check out the zoo (and the riverfront museum but that will have to wait for a couple of weeks) and I asked if we could stop by one of the bookstores I follow on social media. I had no idea what I was getting myself into!
We got to Stacy's Book Rack and knew right away there was an event because there were tents outside. And then I noticed the Spice Rack next door and realized it was the book rack's Spicey romance hub and I fell in love! My biggest complaint about the trip was that it was to claustrophobic which had a lot to do with there being so many people there (which I LOVE for them!) I love the store and the vibes! I even got a coffee cup but I wanted so much more and I even got to talk to Stacy (I'm assuming that's her name) and she was so sweet!
Then I went outside and my girls, Mike and I had even more fun with the vendors! There were so many amazing items that wanted to come home with me (but my bank account said "no") and I got to chat with some AMAZING other women! I didn't get all of their business cards, though, which sucks because I want to follow them!
End of story, I left with more books, more coffee holders, more inspiration and a determination to kick my own butt and get out of my way!
Thank you to all the staff and vendors I got to meet! You made our hearts happy and inspired me. It was truly a pleasure to meet you all and I hope to see more of you in the future!
(below is most of what we came home with thanks to these amazing people!)

I damaged one of my nails a few days ago and didn't want to add chemicals on top of part of my nail being ripped off but now that it's no longer so sensitive....
My lates nail art inspired by the book cover of the book I'm currently reading!
The Way of Stones by Ryan Lanz is the second book in the of the Red Kingdom series. It's got a little bit different vibe then I usually read, but I love the idea that one of our heroes used to be one of those who hunted those with abilities, but now he's as good as one of them!

What are you reading this weekend?

I tend to gravitate to J.D Robb books, though I have yet to read one.
Why, you ask?
Because my Aunt and Mother-in-law LOVE these books and are on a mission to adopt the entire series.

And they have good taste in books.

Maybe this isn't supposed to be the thing I think about whenever I see this book, but wasn't there a song called Johnny Angel or something? Or am I just crazy?

Let me know in the comments, which is where I'll also be dropping the link for the book.

We had this book in English and LOVED it! We loved it so much that the book is now in pieces from all the times we pulled it out, leafed through it, used it to make delicious food and put it away again.

So when someone donated the same book in Spanish, I was super excited to share it with a family who may just love it as much as we did!

But until we find that family, Everette is going to study the art of cooking himself. Maybe we'll even convince him to make dinners for us!

If you think you're that family, check the link below to adopt it!
