We are so humbled by all of the registrations received for this coming school year that one of our PhD level teachers is leading a new group of student in Davie. We are calling it our “Tuesday B” groups. Hurry, we only have a few spots left for our lower elementary class. Comment “register” to receive the direct link.

How do you build confidence in Knowledge? You show them how to apply it of course! Lower E. Students reviewed biomes, played a categorization game and were inspired to recreate their own biomes with the appropriate organisms that live in their selected environments. Upper E students reviewed heredity before creating 3 generations as they observed and played with the genetic diversity that could exist by the 3rd generation. Middle school students had a very intensive lab report day, where we showed them how to transfer their data onto excel and word to create graphs and write down the purpose, results and conclusions of their mini-lab reports. All hands on deck for this class! Some of our other co-ops had modeling days as we discussed the proteins and nucleic bases that make up our DNA (with a short code they had to properly match) and a special cell structure and function activity 🧬

We love our Biology series! Middle school students observed how various substances can bypass our cell membranes using a very nifty cell membrane module after much preparation. Upper elementary students practiced their organization skills by creating multiple generation families to understand how heredity works across family members. Lower Elementary students were introduced to adaptations as we performed a couple of exercises to show them how some restrictions can cause us to adapt to our environment.

Our 2026 Science Fair was one for the books! This is a little preview to this year’s event that wouldn’t be possible without our amazing community. Our future scientists showed us what a small idea can make possible. They worked hard to demonstrate their understanding and abilities within their scientific interests. This event is only possible with the help of our educational sponsors and academic volunteers. We are forever grateful for the support and encouragement in enhancing our children’s science education.

Happy Earth Day! Today is such a beautiful day to celebrate Earth’s wonderful gifts. At Eye of a Scientist, instructors have the hands on experience of studying Earth’s many wonders (big and small), and enjoy teaching about it to our students inside of our lab space. Our goal is to simply inspire our future scientists to understand their environments and interests with love and respect.
