Just another day of chores here at 2 Coots.

Ashley's washing feeders and waterers, Jake's pressure washing crates, Parker's on mow duty, and Dom's on water delivery (he tried to make a funny face for the camera, didn't quite land it. 10/10 effort though.)

This is what "behind the scenes" actually looks like. No glamour, just the work that keeps the ranch running.

Remember when we broke the internet? You know, when the heifers were getting unloaded and it was kinda crazy. Well, here they are now. Happy, unharmed, and living on pasture.

Oven Roasted Lemon Butter Oregano Chicken. Say that five times fast, or just make it once and thank us later.

Sear it in a hot skillet, roast it low, finish it in that lemon-oregano butter sauce. Our pasture-raised chicken breast stays juicy the whole way through if you know the trick (pull it at 162-163°F, let carryover heat finish the job at 165°F).

Now you've got yourself a restaurant-worth meal (dare we say even better?).

School's back. Which means quick dinners are back on the menu.

Ground beef is your secret weapon. Burgers, tacos, spaghetti, chili, fried rice, meatloaf, bolognese, stuffed peppers, enchiladas. We could keep going.

The point? Good ground beef does everything. Sear it, simmer it, brown it, grill it. Works for all of it.

Phil cuts the fat from our pasture-raised beef into small pieces, renders it down on the stove for hours, then strains and purifies it until it's clean. That's it. No shortcuts. Just time turning fat into one of the most useful things in your kitchen.

Been a kitchen staple for thousands of years, and it's making a comeback for good reason. High smoke point, stable at high heat, adds a subtle beefy richness to whatever you're cooking. Or, use it for skincare.

This is what the highlight reel doesn't show. Old barn down, storm rolling in, hay on the line. All hands on deck, tarps out, problem solved. We've got a new barn now...but we think we've earned it.
