Send the card ❤️

Stick the stickers.
Use the perfume.
Burn the candle.
Send the card.

I tend to save things for the perfect moment or special occasions.
But the right moment never comes, or the occasion is never worthy.

So, the stickers sit in a drawer,
the perfume goes stale,
the candles gather dust,
and the cards become a collection rather than a form of correspondence.

When you savor to the point of extremes, it becomes a form of deprivation.
Every day, every occasion is worthy of life’s little joys.
You deserve your favorite things even more on the most unspectacular days because those are the days you need to be reminded most of the value and beauty of every day. Those small joys are what make the dull days shine.

You can always buy another candle, perfume, or sheet of stickers, but you won’t always get another day. Every day is fleeting, so you may as well fill it with your favorite things.

A lovely and obviously wise friend wrote about this recently, and I think it’s an important reminder for all of us.

So, this morning I spent some time sticking stickers that I've been saving for far too long.
