Better late than never, Amigas 🤎✨

I barely took pictures this weekend because I was honestly too busy soaking in the simple moments. Good food, a lil beach time, and thrifting with J of course… Plus I literally didn’t lift a finger all weekend 🫢.

Truthfully, days like this can still feel really heavy when you don’t have your Mama here anymore (just ask anyone who’s lost theirs). No matter how much time passes, there’s always a piece of your heart that misses her extra on days like this. But I’m grateful for the love and effort my lil familia poured into making me feel cared for and loved this weekend (especially the extra hugs here & there).

Life really is so precious, Amigas. Hug your gente tight, enjoy the lil moments, and don’t forget to pour into yourself too (listen to your body). Feeling grateful, thankful & blessed for it all 🤎🌊☀️♻️ .d1az

It’s crazy how certain things & people find you exactly when you need them most 🤍

About 3 months after my Mama passed in 2006, I found myself holding onto the movie The Devil Wears Prada… getting lost in the fashion, the confidence, & all of the possibilities✨ Without even realizing it, it became a BIG part of my healing.

Because it was never just about clothes… it was about becoming.

Fast forward 20 years later to last night in Hollywood 🥹 Devil Wears Prada 2 had me feeling ALL the things (in a good way).

The only difference was that this time I walked in as HER.

Chicana in the City energy, repping the true Goddess I’ve grown into 🌹
Resilient. Stylish. Heart-led.

From healing… to becoming.

Grateful for the journey.

In 8 months my first born turns 18… & in just 4 days she’s off to her Junior Prom 🥺✨

If you really know me, then you know dressing my baby girl was ALWAYS my thing. From tiny outfits to big bows… I lived for it. Somewhere along the way she stopped letting me pick her looks—but earlier this month, walking the with her (& Auntie Chris) felt like we found a little piece of that again 🤍

Crossing the 6th Street Bridge, going rack by rack looking for the one… whew, full circle moment I didn’t even know I needed 😭 Took me right back to the days when & I would take the bus to the fashion district on our own… the good old days for real.

And can we talk about how good the 🥑 was ?! Because yes… we definitely brought a couple 🌭🌭 home too 🤭 You can’t leave the fashion district without them!

I can’t wait to show you the dress she chose… it’s everything & then some ✨
