These photos demonstrate the before and after when an antique rug has been bleached. They are everywhere in the market and are often gently referred to as “antique washed”. Read my article “The Great Beiging of Decor” in a recent issue of The Magazine ANTIQUES . there’s a link in my linktree. “Let rugs be rugs”.

Looking back on July 12 at our gallery in Dublin, New Hampshire. We spent the afternoon discussing and walking through Frank Stella’s collection of Navajo (Diné) textiles, followed by an evening of live jazz, w**e, and friends in the gallery.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a memorable day. The full panel discussion and gallery walk-through along with our exhibition archive on our website are now available through the link or bio. Please reach out if you have any questions about accessing these materials and I can send them to you personally.

Fall is in the air and I invite you to visit our Dublin, NH gallery! My 50th year in business has caused me to reflect on my career. From my original rug hunting car in 1976 to my original store in Keene, NH in the 80’s with Andy Warhol’s round Lelu carpet on the wall (miscatalogued as art deco Chinese by Sotheby’s) to a Zebra that lives in Vermont! The adventure continues! We are open Tuesday-Saturday from 10-5:00 and if you mention the word “foliage” I’ll give you an exclusive instagram discount either in person or online!

Featuring museum-quality antique rugs woven before 1900, the collection celebrates exceptional artistry, history, color, and craftsmanship. Every rug is available for acquisition, offering collectors and design enthusiasts a rare opportunity to live with a remarkable work of art.
Throughout the week, Tyven Gabriner, Director of Peter Pap Rugs’ San Francisco Gallery, will be at Four Corners to welcome visitors, answer questions, and share his expertise.
Peter Pap plans to return this Wednesday at 4pm to present “Understanding, Antique Rugs: Exploring the History and Learning the Finer Points of Color and Design and Rugs Woven before 1900”. This lecture gives a great opportunity for those who regretted missing the lecture last week to attend the second time around.
