New episode of Shop Days! Today we discuss bad habits. For example...36 hours before my next show is NOT the time to experiment with a three color Resin pour.

Apologies for the delay in Story Days. The Friday show didn't go as planned, so I wanted to spend some time and revamp our lineup for this Saturday. So today's Shop Days is a behind the scenes look at all the new stuff I am trying to finish this week. Two resin river charcuterie boards that unintentionally poured the same color, three of the five inch collectible bowls, and a bunch of small ring style boxes. Hope you come out Saturday to the Makers Market and see the final results!!!

Late post today since we are preparing for the Farmers Market Friday. So this will cover Thursday and Friday for our Shop Days.

Very excited for these. We invested in a UV Resin printer which allows us to add stunning graphics to our wood products. Simple five inch lidded bowls with an explosion of color featuring hibiscus flowers. These are raised brushstroke style images, and you simply need to stop by and touch them.

Lucky for you they will be available Friday at the Palatka Farmers Market Summer Night Lights! Hope to see you there!

For today's Shop Days we bring you a pair of classic large jewelry style boxes. These boxes measure 10 inches by 6 and a quarter inches by 5 inches tall. The first box is a hinged black poplar with a spalted elm top and walnut tray. The second box is a lift off lid style made of walnut with a cobalt blue resin inlay on top.

We will debut the spalted hinged box on August 15th at the Jacksonville Makers Market. Hope to see you there!

Hello everyone!

Recently we have had a significant uptick in page views and new followers. For those that are new, welcome! Also, thank you to all those who have been here since the beginning of FWG, and thank you to those who joined along the way.

Penny and I have struggled to get Fair Winds up and moving for many years now. I won't dive into the excuses of why we have been stagnant for so long, so let's leave it as "life happens" and .ove forward.

We have spent the last year trying to be more consistent in maintaining the business. One of the opportunities that came up was the Palatka Farmers Market IT is a local event to us and we have set up with them at least once a month. This was a real confide ce boost for us and allowed us to meet people in our community and start selling products. They have featured us a few times and I suspect a few of our new followers are here directly because of them, so thank you very much to the Palatka Farmers Market team for your trust and support.

Another local group that highlighted our business was the Jacksonville Business Connections. Our first show with them is August 15th and we are very excited to attend as vendors. My guess is many of the new followers found us here when they gave us a spotlight for the upcoming 4th Annual Jacksonville Makers Market. So a huge thank you to them for supporting us before we even attend an event. The trust in us is not lost.

Our website is nearly complete. We have to figure our shipping since thise costs are borderline prohibitive these days. However, the Events tab has all of the upcoming locations for where we will be in the upcoming months. Head to www.fairwindsgifts.com and see if you can come meet us at an event.

Finally, we want to increase our social media presence on Facebook and Instagram. Starting today we will post 'Shop Days' and provide a behind the scenes look at what we are working on
We try to bring one new item to each show so check here to see the behind the scenes details of what goes into the woodworking projects you will see on display. That first post will follow this post this evening.

Enjoying the view from our booth at the Bartram Frolic in downtown Palatka! Lots of vendors, food trucks, live music and living history booths teaching about William Bartram and how Florida life was during his time. We have even heard the cannon go off a couple of times already this morning!
