If your Pride flags or signs are stolen, vandalized or destroyed, Easton Police want to know. Please report to the Easton non-emergency police line ASAP.
Easton Pride met with Police Chief Koskinas regarding what to do if incidents like this occur and he asked and emphasized that Easton Police want to hear all incidents as soon as possible. If you have photos, security camera images or supporting information please include when you report. These matters will be taken seriously and addressed appropriately.
It’s important that any incidents, no matter how minor you think they are, are reported. The police will then know how often they are occurring, if there are repeat offenders and if they are being committed by known agitators. Oftentimes, just knowing that incidents will be taken seriously is enough to stop future incidents. We’ve read about incidents in Easton social media posts about multiple people in town having their signs stolen or vandalized and felt it was important to share more widely.
Everyone in town deserves to feel welcome. No one should have their property vandalized or stolen. We’ve spoken about reporting incidents at a couple BoS meetings, but will also send this information to be included in the weekly selectman letter.
