When Eau Claire area author Erik Meyer’s first release, The Sublime Luminary of Um, arrived to local bookstores across the Chippewa Valley, he was already in motion to complete a second book in the science fiction series. Today, Return To Um finds its two leading characters – Theodore and Grandma Betsy – in new, otherworldly landscapes Meyer illustrates by hand.

“One thing to remember is that every civilization has its own technologies and ways of doing things, and – avoiding a spoiler here – readers may have not yet met all the cultures and humanoids who call Um home,” Meyer noted.

Copies of Return To Um and The Sublime Luminary of Um are available to purchase in person at The Local Store and Audrey's Bo***ir.

We wish our beloved Kristie Adisek the very best in her next chapter and would love to help her find amazing new owners of WiMM. Due to my own health reasons I am not able to take it on myself or I absolutely would have. Believe me I cried over not being able to as I love what we have built together at 404 S. Barstow.

For the last several months I have been building a new chapter and I’ve made the decision to focus my time and energy on Bresina’s Carry Out. Because of that, I’m looking for the right person—or even a co-op of passionate people—to continue the Eau Claire Wisconsin Makers Market and our vendor events..

This is more than purchasing a business—it’s the opportunity to carry on a community that has supported hundreds of local makers and small businesses. The Eau Claire store is fully established and includes the inventory, fixtures, branding, website, systems, social media presence, event infrastructure, and so much more. I’ll also be available to help with the transition to set the next owner up for success.
