💙 SEPTEMBER PARTY WITH PURPOSE NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN! 💙

It’s time to find our next family.

And honestly, I’m more excited about Party With Purpose right now than I’ve ever been.

What started as us simply giving away a free inflatable each month is slowly turning into something much bigger. We now have other local businesses and people stepping forward offering cakes, additional inflatable options, photography, and even services to help families outside of the party itself.

People are asking, “What can I do to help?”

And that’s exactly what I’ve always hoped this could become.

So now we need your help finding the next family to celebrate.

Do you know a child dealing with medical challenges.

Do you know a family that has had one hard thing after another thrown at them.

Maybe they’re navigating a disability, loss, financial hardship, or circumstances most people around them don’t even realize they’re carrying.

It doesn’t have to be the most heartbreaking story you’ve ever heard.

If you know a family that could use some extra joy and a reminder that their community sees them, nominate them.

Big Shoutout!

I wanted to take a minute to highlight 3 special businesses that have joined us in our journey to serve local families through our Party with Purpose Initiative.

The Sugared Kelpie- A local bakery that has reached out and told us they would gladly bake and donate a cake for these parties. Thanks to them, we can now bring more than just a bounce house!

Nathan Large with Hometown Amusement and Creations- An upstanding guy also running an incredible party rental business that can handle everything from backyard parties to corporate events to weddings. He wanted to get involved, and is opening up his entire inventory of inflatables and games that our families can choose from as well if they aren't already booked. This gives families a way bigger variety they can choose from.

Showtime Elite NC East- An indoor cheer/dance/tumbling gym in Elizabeth City. They have been a huge supporter of us from the start. Partnering with us to provide affordable indoor birthday parties at the most fun place in Elizabeth City. Also allowing us to set up a bounce house for indoor play days offering a low cost option for kids to have fun during the colder months. They just offered their indoor space free of charge if needed for the winter months. This allows us to continue serving local families even when the weather turns rough.

I am incredibly grateful for these local businesses coming forward to help us bless families in our community.

What started last year as a way for us to give back to the community that supports us by setting up one bounce house for a deserving family is turning into so much more. I love seeing the community together to give a family a day they'll remember for a long time.

So with that said, there are two more pieces Id really love to add.

🎉 Someone who enjoys doing some simple party decorating. Nothing crazy, just helping make the setup feel a little more special for the family.

📸 And a photographer willing to come out for a little while and capture some good pictures so the family gets to hold on to these memories forever.

❤️ Meet our August Party With Purpose family!

This month we get to celebrate the family of Khamani and Kayzleigh.

Khamani is 5, and his little sister Kayzleigh is 3, turning 4 in October.

Over the last few years, their family has been learning to navigate a new normal after Kayzleigh was diagnosed with autism.

For Mom and Dad, that has meant appointments, therapies, finding resources, additional expenses, advocating for their daughter, and learning to see and experience the world a little differently alongside her.

Gabby told me something that really stuck with me:

“Sometimes when you’re busy handling everyday life, you don’t realize that someone else sees what your family is walking through.”

That’s a big part of what I want Party With Purpose to be.

Not every family is going through the same thing. Not every story looks like the ones we’ve shared before. Sometimes it’s simply about recognizing a family that’s doing their best, loving their kids, carrying things most people don’t see, and giving them an excuse to forget about all of it for a day and have some fun together.

And that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

Gabby told us that their biggest goal as parents is to give Khamani and Kayzleigh a childhood filled with love, happiness and fun memories.

We can definitely help with the fun memories part. ❤️

We’re excited to give these two a day to just be kids. Running around, playing, laughing and hopefully wearing themselves completely out.

And with Kayzleigh’s 4th birthday coming up in October, the timing makes it even sweeter.

We’re looking for a winter home for our igloos! ❄️✨

Last year we had a ton of interest in these, but the amount of labor involved in delivering, decorating, setting up, and tearing them down for every rental made the experience more expensive than we wanted it to be.

This winter, we’re exploring a new model.

We’re looking for a private, attractive outdoor space where our igloos could stay set up for the season and be used for date nights, photo sessions, small celebrations, and other seasonal experiences.

The ideal location would have easy access, parking, nearby power, restroom access, privacy, and a setting that feels like a destination rather than someone’s backyard.

This could be a great fit for a wedding venue, restaurant, farm, waterfront property, B&B, or another business with an underused outdoor area.

We’re open to rent, revenue sharing, or another partnership that makes sense for everyone involved.

This is a post I really didn’t want to have to make.

Yesterday, I had two separate families reach out looking for a waterslide at the last minute. Both had already paid someone else to deliver one that day and nobody ever showed up.

Two families. In one day.

It’s frustrating, and honestly, it’s sad. Most people booking a waterslide are just trying to give their kids a fun day, and often the families being targeted are the ones working with the smallest budgets.

I’m not someone who speaks negatively about other businesses. In fact, when we’re booked or don’t have what someone needs, I regularly refer customers to other legitimate local rental companies that I trust.

But customers also deserve to know what to look for.

Extremely low pricing can sometimes come at a much greater cost. Even if/when the equipment does arrive, an operator cutting corners may not be following proper setup and anchoring procedures, may not have completed industry safety training, and may not carry liability insurance.

Those things matter because inflatables are not harmless toys. When they are installed or operated incorrectly, children can be seriously injured or worse.

Before sending anyone money, take a few minutes to check:

• Do they have established Facebook and Google reviews?
• Do they have a professional business presence and reliable contact information?
• Will they provide proof of liability insurance?
• Have they completed inflatable safety training or certification?
• Are they willing to explain how the unit will be properly anchored and set up?

A lower price does not automatically mean someone is dishonest. But when one price is dramatically lower than every established company in the area, it is fair to ask why.

Doing this correctly costs more. Insurance, training, proper equipment, maintenance, cleaning and safe installation all have real expenses attached to them. Those costs exist because your children’s safety matters.

Saving $100 is never worth losing your money, ruining your child’s celebration or putting someone at risk.

I’ll be honest…

Every month I look forward to reading the stories that come in. Not because I enjoy reading about the hardships families are facing, but because I know that each story represents an opportunity for us, as a community, to remind someone that they’re not alone.

As of today, we’re still looking for our July Party With Purpose family.

Maybe you’ve thought about nominating someone but weren’t sure if their story was “enough.”

Please don’t let that stop you.

Party With Purpose isn’t just for families facing the biggest battles. It’s for children and families who could simply use a reason to smile. Maybe they’re navigating illness, caring for a child with special needs, grieving a loss, facing financial hardship, or just walking through an incredibly difficult season.

One of my helpers asked me a question this weekend that really made me stop and think.

He asked, “What’s the most rewarding part of running Riverfront Rentals? Is it just getting to see kids have fun?”

The answer is…yes, but it’s so much deeper than that.

Riverfront Rentals has never just been about bounce houses and waterslides.

To me, business is simply another way to serve people.

When you rent from us, you’re helping create memories that families will talk about for years. You’re helping bring neighbors together, celebrating birthdays, graduations, family reunions, and all of life’s special moments.

But your support does even more than that.

Because of your business, we’ve been able to launch our Party With Purpose initiative, providing free parties for families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.

We’ve helped host fundraisers for local families during medical emergencies, raising over $1,000 together.

I’ve heard children say, “This is the best day I’ve ever had.”

I’ve watched parents relax and enjoy time with their kids instead of worrying about the details.

This weekend, I was reminded of something else.

Because you choose to support Riverfront Rentals, we’re also able to provide opportunities for people to work, earn money, build confidence, and provide for their own families.

So what are you really getting when you rent from us?

You’re getting clean, safe, reliable equipment.

But you’re also becoming part of something much bigger.

Every rental helps us create memories, serve our community, invest in people, and continue finding new ways to love our neighbors.

None of that happens without you.

So from the bottom of my heart…thank you.

💙 Someone in our community needs to be nominated… they just don’t know it yet.

One of the things we’ve learned through Party With Purpose is that the families who need encouragement the most are often the least likely to ask for it.

They’re focused on doctor’s appointments.
They’re navigating financial stress.
They’re caring for a child with special needs.
They’re grieving.
They’re simply doing everything they can to make it through another day.

Those are the families we’re hoping to find.

If someone came to mind while reading this, don’t overthink it.

Nominate them.

One message. One story. One nomination could become a day they’ll never forget.
