Life has been busy but I completed a milestone in my collecting and wanted to share. I have been on the search for a large and small note from each bank in Clayton County. (Note: Strawberry Point didn't issue any small size notes) There were 3 national bank charters in Clayton County, Elkader, McGregor and Strawberry Point. Strawberry Point is by far the hardest note to find. Thanks to some friends in the industry I was able to put this collection together.

I am always looking for more local notes.

I also have many other coins and currency for sale and am always looking to purchase collections. Let me know you would like to line up a time to meet. I am by appointment only as all inventory is stored offsite.

A new addition to my original hometown collection. The First National Bank of Sheffield, IA Charter #12430. This is a fairly common bank for small size with 17 notes known, however very difficult in large size with only 2 known. Even though the small has 17 notes known there hasn't been one sold on public auction since 2017. This bank was organized on August 7, 1923 with $40,000 in capital and then was placed in receivership on June 11, 1932. RG Wolf, who's signature is on this note, was the President for the duration of the banks existence. The Cashiers signature is, KH Weltner who served the bank from 1928 - 1932 and also served as Assistant Cashier prior to taking the Cashier role.

Was able to handle a pretty cool collection with some gold from the 70’s and 80’s. Unfortunately the gold has been sold already however I still have the silver bars and silver dollars available from this collection. I also have almost everything available so if you are looking for something specific let me know. If I don’t have it I will find it!
