Itโs ๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ช! Each week Iโll introduce a plant (mostly common ones that folks will recognize) & highlight some basic care like water, light, pet toxicity, & more! Iโd love for you to chime in on your experience (good or bad) with the featured plant ๐ฟ
This week Iโm highlighting a ๐๐ง๐๐ค๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ญ. Itโs officially spooky season so I thought it would be appropriate to highlight a plant that gives off creepy vibes ๐๐ป
๐ฆ As a drought tolerant plant, they would prefer a dry out between waterings. Does this mean you can water & then forget about it for weeks on end? NO! If this actually happens all the time, will your snake plant care? NO! Itโs a thrive off neglect kind of relationship. Storing water in their thick, fleshy leaves is a defense mechanism for your forgetfulness..
๐ค๏ธ Bright indirect light is best for the snake plant despite all the epic stories youโve heard, like how your coworker had a snake plant in a dark corner of a bathroom for three years & itโs still โthrivingโ. Can a snake plant survive in super low light conditions, absolutely. Will they โthriveโ.. no. Just give it some light will ya?
๐พ Mildly toxic to pets
๐ชด Other facts: considered a succulent, originate from Africa but can be found in tropical part of the U.S like Florida and Hawaii, great for filtering air, can easily be split & propagated, can grow to many different sizes depending on variety, beginner friendly
What is your experience with a snake plant? I currently have three in my home & you can find these in the shop right now!
