We are officially closed, done, over.
The echoes of six years are still in the corners,
even if the shelves are bare and the lights are low.
I moved more than just inventory out of these four walls;
I moved a piece of my heart that I’m not quite ready to let go.
I am blessed for the experience—
for the friends I have made, and even for the ones lost along the way.
Six years is a long time.
I’ll be honest, I cried more than a few times
moving my stuff out of the space that felt a little like home.
It’s a strange kind of grief to lock this door for the last time.
Leaving behind the dust and the memories,
feeling both lighter and heavier than I expected.
But as the silence settles, I can finally hear it clearly:
I will miss my little shop, but it was time.
I am closing the door on The Prickly Pair,
but I am carrying the strength it gave me
into the next chapter
