🚨 AN OPEN LETTER TO DOLLAR GENERAL 🚨

Dear Dollar General,

If you’re going to give us $5 off $25 and $10 off $30 coupons, could you pretty please let us actually USE THEM when we get to the register and enter our phone numbers? And even when we try using the paper coupons, those aren’t working either! 😂

A huge number of loyal shoppers have been dealing with coupons not coming off, discounts not applying, and transactions turning into full-blown math investigations all day long. We shouldn’t need a calculator, a detective, and divine intervention just to check out! 😩

And while we have your attention… could someone please figure out exactly what the BOGO deals are supposed to include—and make sure the app, registers, advertisements, and stores all receive the same information?

We love shopping at Dollar General. We love the deals. We love the coupons. We would simply love them even more if they actually worked and everyone knew what was included!

Make it Make Sense DG????

I specifically checked these items with yellow clover on Thursday and they were not ringing up by one get one, as I said before cashier did still go ahead and give it to me.
But then yesterday I was in a store and the manager was showing me the sale tags and said yellow clover doesn’t start until Sunday along with green Clover and purple clover.
AND then today, I’m in the store and I see all these tags which are totally conflicting.????

NOW all of the Clover items ARE ringing BoGO!!! WTH??? 🤦‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️
So you’re telling me I should’ve had the savings already the other day and I left them in the store because they were not ringing up?

🚨 The Dollar General Clearance Event is in FULL SWING! 🚨

Check out all these awesome items I scored today—everything was less than $2, and some were even less than $1! 🙌 Several items had coupons attaching, making those already-amazing clearance prices even better. I even earned cashback through the Dollar General app AND Ibotta! 💰

I also scored some super-cheap laundry products, including Arm & Hammer and Purex laundry soap—and I’ve already donated one! ❤️ I even managed to find a penny item or two hiding out there. 👀🪙

I’m still searching for my clearance unicorn: discounted diapers, especially newborn through size 2! 🦄👶

🛒 Let’s Talk Dollar General Clearance Again! 🛒

Let’s talk about the clearance event, digital coupons, and those BOGO deals—because unfortunately, it’s going to be hit or miss!

Make sure your DG app is set to the correct store and scan, scan, scan! Some clearance items may have digital coupons attaching for even more savings. However, a coupon may not show as attaching in the app but could still come off when you ring out at the register. On the flip side, a coupon may appear to attach in the app and then not apply at checkout. That’s why it’s so important to watch the register and check your receipt!

The same goes for the BOGO offers. Some deals may not display correctly in the app but could still work at the register. Pricing, availability, coupons, and promotions can vary from store to store, so as always, your miles may vary!

✅ Set the correct store
✅ Clip your coupons before shopping
✅ Scan every item
✅ Check the BOGO details
✅ Watch the register
✅ Review your receipt before leaving
✅ Be kind and patient with employees

And don’t forget to look closely through the clearance sections, bins, and totes—you never know what hidden deal or penny item might be waiting! 👀🪙

The additional 50% OFF clearance event runs August 28 through September 3, so it’s time to get out there and SCAN, SCAN, SCAN! 📱🛒

Keep an eye out for possible deals on:

✨ Laundry detergent
✨ Allergy and cold medicines
✨ Cereal and other food items
✨ Shampoo, conditioner and gift sets
✨ Hair and body-care products
✨ Feminine-care products
✨ underwear
✨ Toys
✨ Drinks and hydration products
✨ Storage bins and totes—and some may even be BOGO!

Some storage bins may not be clearly marked as clearance, so don’t pass them by without scanning! Also watch for Blue Star Toys, White Star Socks, Green Star Socks and select “As Seen on TV” items—all included in the additional 50% OFF savings!

📱 Before you scan, make sure your DG app is set to the correct store location. While you’re checking prices, look for digital coupons that may attach for even MORE savings on top of the clearance discount!

⚠️ Remember, YMMV! Prices, inventory and participation can vary, and not every store will have the same items or deals.

And most importantly…KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED FOR PENNIES! 👀🪙 Employees may bring old clearance bins, totes and boxes back onto the sales floor for the event—and there could be penny items hiding inside or mixed in with the clearance!
