Back in November, I ended up in hospital with a ruptured appendix, a routine urine sample gave a false positive pregnancy test, I was advised to go back to my GP after recovery and ask for tests to be carried out to rule out an underlying condition. Fast forward to this year, abdominal scans revealed a thickening of the lining of my womb, further investigations found a polyp, which was removed along with some of the lining of my womb which were sent of for biopsy. Thee weeks ago, the results came back, and I have been diagnosed with what they term as pre-cancer, I feel incredibly lucky and blessed that this has been picked up at such an early stage, and if it hadn’t been for my appendicitis I would never have known, until maybe when it was too late, I have zero symptoms, no pain no bleeding, nothing… sadly the only course of treatment for me is a total hysterectomy, they are taking literally everything, and whilst I’m blessed that this has happened now, after I have completed my family, it still feels like a devastating blow and I feel like I’m losing what essentially makes me a woman and all that goes with it. However, I met with my consultant yesterday and came away feeling a little more optimistic, he answered my questions and eased some of my fears for my future. My surgery is likely to be in the next two to three weeks, and recovery is up to 8 weeks, so for now I’ll probably make up a few bits and pieces, I’ll have some teacher melts available for end of term, but if there is anything you want or need, please let me know as soon as possible and I will get it sorted for you before my surgery.
Sadly, this does mean that I have had to cancel the school fayre I had planned ♥️
