.. And we’d welcome a few kind words for staffer Pete, who worked hard all day to master Instagram Reels so we can enter the video age with our bookmongering. 🎥📚

This is their first Reel, and we think they killed it. 👏

Newly listed: New Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos, a 1998 hardcover anthology of Lovecraftian horror from Golden Gryphon Press. Yours for $27.

Eighteen contributors including Stephen King, Harlan Ellison, Fritz Leiber, Ron Goulart, and Robert Charles Wilson offer their own excursions into H.P. Lovecraft’s enduring of ancient evils, forbidden knowledge, cosmic entities, and humanity’s precarious place in an incomprehensibly larger universe.

The collection opens, appropriately, with the “Great Invocation,” attributed to the fictional occultist Friedrich von Junzt and his equally fictional Unaussprechlichen Kulten, the "Black Book" or "Unnamed Cults." We’ve pictured the FULL invocation here for those inclined to chant it aloud at their own risk... We are, after all, entering here in .

Available with curbside delivery in the Fitchburg area, USPS shipping at Media Mail rates, or scheduled pickup at One Wood Place. Comment below or send a DM for more information or to reserve.

“Cahoots broker” is an anagram for “bookstore arch.” We’re finishing the loading-in of our shelves and adding finishing touches like this ornamental book feature, as we prepare for autumn ribbon-cutting. Join our mailing list to be invite to our week-long friends-and-family preview event before the grand opening. Kudos to staffer Aly for her book architecture prowess!

New in the shop: a scarce first edition of Ben Mazer’s chapbook Johanna Poems, issued by Cy Gist 2007. Yours for $65.

An early Mazer collection from Boston’s erudite, neo-bohemian, learned literary scene of the early 2000s. Contains 14 poems on cream stock, sewn through the fold and bound in green wrappers with a contrasting lime-green inner wrapper. Cover illustration by the author.

This book was launched at a 2007 Harvard Square reading with Stephen Sturgeon, sponsored by the Grolier Poetry Bookshop. Sturgeon’s exuberant endorsement appears on the rear cover; visit this listing on the Bookshop website to read that blurb in its entirety.

Available for local delivery, Media Mail shipping, or scheduled shop pickup. DM to reserve, or comment below.

New in the shop: a handsome 1985 hardcover edition of Kahlil Gibran’s Sand and Foam. Yours for $25.

Available with curbside delivery in the Fitchburg area, USPS shipping at Media Mail rates, or scheduled pickup at the new shop location. Comment below or send a DM to request more information or ask that the book be placed on reserve for you.

The volume is copiously ornamented and includes seven illustrations “reproduced from original drawings by the author.”
