Kayaking the New River has been on our to-do list for a while and this weekend we made it happen. We made a quick trip up to our property in Virginia and worked all day Friday on cleaning up debris and making a dump run. We can’t have all work and no play, so we made a fun day for ourselves kayaking out of New River Outdoor Adventures in Galax.
The mountain view’s were breathtaking and the thought of not having to dodge gators was comforting. And if your guide says “stay to the right of the island!” Just do it, they won’t steer you wrong and give you the best directions! They offer quite a few drops along the river and even rent bikes to enjoy on all 57 miles of the New River Trail. Can’t wait to head back for the next adventure!
