I am feeling very honored to be featured in 🇺🇸MILSPO Social Co. Magazine this quarter. When I first discovered this platform I was drawn to effortless way it helps military spouses connect and network on such a big scale. Since starting the book store I have really enjoyed meeting other business owners and figuring out how our businesses or networks can support one another. Jillian Jacobs and Jessica Lunt were some of the first to come out and sell their books with me- and I will forever be grateful for them putting up with my crazy. I have flat out failed in my attempts with some connections. It may sound cliche but I try to go forward and do better the next time… all while trying to bring something unique to the community. Happy banned books week to all who celebrate! This is easily one of our most popular shelves in the truck. Today I learned about picture books that make the banned books list. And did you know our own Sarah j Mass frequents the list?! Don’t forget to get your pre orders in for our release parties!

So grateful to Manhattan Moms for putting this event together with us and Bahlm Co Coffee Bar for keeping us well caffeinated for all the new friends we made! Katelyn Andrist thank you for sharing your book with us and coming out to meet so many little readers!

80+ PEOPLE. 🤯💜

When we dreamed up our first Manhattan Moms Storytime in the Park, we truly had no idea what to expect.

And then more than 80 of you showed up. 🥹

Kids spread out on blankets. Moms connected. Coffee was poured. Books were read. And our little corner of City Park was filled with families.

This absolutely would not have been possible without The Backyard Bookshelf saying hey let’s do this and then getting Brianna Cleaves to join us and then Fragrant Blends for jumping into this idea with us and helping make it happen.

We also loved having Deployed Love of Fort Riley (sorry won’t let me tag the local group!), Moms Club MHK and Katelyn Andrist there to support our families and be part of the morning. 💜

But maybe our favorite part?

Since the event, 44 moms have already told us they want another one.

FORTY-FOUR. 😂

So… message received, Manhattan.

We’re doing it again. Soon but TBD! 🙌

We’re already starting to dream up what the next Manhattan Moms community event could look like, and after seeing so many of you come out for this one, we have a feeling this is only the beginning.

Thank you for showing up, bringing your kiddos and helping us build something really special right here in Manhattan. 💜
