This month 30% of all proceeds whether online or in person will be donated to my team for the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention- Indiana Chapter Fort Wayne out of the Darkness Walk!

This cause is near and dear to my heart for many reasons. First is my own personal struggle with suicidal ideation throughout my life. I also have so many people that I love who have struggled too. And unfortunately, I know several who have lost their fight.

If you’d like to support the cause directly or join my team to walk, we’d love to have you! You can donate directly or sign up at the link below! Or feel free to shop my website!

Just taking a break from my regular garden/small business content to remind you that Mental Health Matters! YOU matter! And I am SO glad you’re here!

Today marks two years since I had planned to take my life. That would mean two years of first experiences, love given and felt, heartache, grief, personal growth, gardening, and learning that I would’ve missed. If you’re struggling right now, please know that I am SO glad I was stopped two years ago. Please know that it DOES get better. You are loved. You matter. Together we can fight to see another day! 🩵💜💚

🫑🍆🥒Garden Update 🥒🍆🫑

The tunnel is finally filling in and becoming so magical!
🥒We have green beans on the front panel, cucumbers and cucamelons on one side of the middle panel and spaghetti squash on the other side, and luffa on the back panel.

🍅Our tomato’s are finally ripening! Thank you cooler weather! I will be freezing my paste tomato’s until the plants are done and then turn them into roasted tomato soup to freeze and have all winter.

🍆 We harvested our first eggplants of the season today! It’s been two years since we have gotten any eggplant as last year’s crop was a bust. So this is very exciting for us!

🫑Jalapeños, cayenne, banana, and bell peppers are doing wonderfully this year! I’ve already pickled a couple pints of banana peppers, we will be making jalapeño jam and cowboy candy soon, and we’ve been able to eat some bell peppers fresh AND get some put away in the freezer! What a blessing! 🙌🏻

🍓My strawberry bed has filled in beautifully and I’m still gettting some berries here and there.

🌿My herbs have really taken off this year! I’ve been dehydrating them like crazy to get them stored away for winter use and gift giving!

🥕I had some little helpers help me plant some fall carrots and they are starting to sprout! I also planted some beets 🫜 so we will see if they do much.

My garden is my happy place. Even when there are chores to be done in it or pests, it still gives me so much life. Especially while I’m down for the count.

How has your garden been this year?

My dad and I managed to get all 8 tomato plants staked up and then I gave them all a really good pruning😮‍💨 it was quite the challenge as some of the plants are now over 7ft tall!!! 😱 we had a few unfortunate casualties in the process but they will ripen up inside just fine!

Homemade garlic confit using homegrown garlic!
This was my first time ever trying garlic confit let alone making it! It is SO yummy and made the house smell so good. I did one half batch plain and one with fresh herbs (basil, rosemary, oregano). Both are great but I definitely like the herby one best!

The results are in!! 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 This spaghetti squash beat our record from last year by almost a whole inch in height and by a couple ounces in weight! This beauty measures 11 1/2 inches tall and weighs 4 pounds 14 ounces! 😱 it’s bigger than my giant head! 🤣 if you were to buy this in the store, it’d cost over $7. And that’s not even the organic price.

We still have more forming on the vine so we will see if any of them beat this one. They just keep getting bigger and bigger every year!

We love growing spaghetti squash because if grown and stored properly they can last up to almost a year. We just ate our last squash we harvested last year just about a week ago! You can’t beat fresh veggies even through the winter. 🥰
