Here is a short video showing how honeybees place propolis inside the beehive. Propolis, or "bee glue", is the substance that the bees use like glue and caulking to seal cracks, block out light, and as an antibacterial to lower disease risks. Composed of mostly plant resin, the bees mix it with compounds that they produce to create a compound that has long been touted for many health therapies for humans. Amazing little bugs!

Put out some pollen supplement for the hungry bees in the Doss Valley today. They get covered in it like 6 year old boys in a mud pit! Fun to watch.

This should start the queens laying eggs for the first 2022 baby bees!

Inspected hives in the Doss Valley this afternoon. Queens starting to lay as the weather warms and a few pollen sources start to show up. The spring magic begins!

Just posted photos from our visit to Blue Ridge Honey Co. in Lakemont, Ga. in October, 2021. To a beekeeper this is hallowed ground! The owner of Blue Ridge is Bob Binnie who operates one of the very best beekeeping channels on YouTube. He is an experienced and knowledgeable beekeeper and very successful entrepreneur in a tough industry. He is also just a great guy!
