🍳 CAST-IRON CREATIONS 🍳

Just a little piece of last night’s dinner… and yes, the 2+ hours in the kitchen were absolutely worth it. 🤤❤️

Last night’s menu:

🍗 Grilled cast-iron chicken stuffed with sautéed mushrooms, cream cheese & arugula
🍄 Homemade creamy Marsala mushroom sauce
🥔 Homemade mashed potatoes — a recipe I’ve been making for years and one that is always a hit
🥬 Fresh green beans, zucchini & squash

Is it the healthiest dinner I’ve ever made? Probably not. 😂 But there’s just something different about home cooking and knowing exactly what you’re putting into your food.

And if you cook often but don’t own a cast-iron skillet, I strongly recommend getting one! It definitely takes a little practice to learn how to control the heat, season it properly and get that perfect sear… but once you understand how to cook with cast iron, you’ll understand exactly what I mean. 🔥🍳

Now, I know mushrooms are one of those love them or absolutely not foods. 😂 So if sautéed mushrooms aren’t your thing, no problem this stuffed chicken can still be made without them.

I’ll be sharing each of these recipes, including my homemade mashed potatoes that have been a request many times over the years. 🥔

🍽️✨ Some might call this a little extra… I call it part of what I love to do 😂 💫👩🏼‍🍳👇🏻

One of my favorite things to do is entertain, and when we had company a few weeks ago, instead of simply asking, “What do y’all want for dinner?” I decided to give them options. 😋🙌

I put together one visual with several different meal choices, and every food image shown is an actual picture of something I’ve made 📸👩‍🍳. I specifically chose recipes I’ve made over the years that have become guest favorites, so I knew they were all pretty safe bets. 🍝🥘

A little over the top? Maybe. 😂 But I love to make sure that guests are accommodated and enjoy a home cooked meal that is personalized to what they enjoy, and food is definitely one of my favorite ways to do that.

Now the fun part… any guesses which one they picked? 👀🍴

I’ve been wanting to share more of the recipes I actually make at home, so I’m finally putting together some of my favorites, but also these are ones I’ve made for several others! 🥘🍝🌮

The food photos you’ll see are pictures of the actual dishes I’ve made 📸🍴, and the recipes are either my own creations 👩‍🍳✨ or recipes I’ve been inspired by and then tweaked along the way to make them my own. 💡🥄

I’m definitely not claiming to reinvent the wheel over here 😂 I just love experimenting in the kitchen, making things work for real life, and sharing what turns out really good! 😋🙌

Some are quick and easy ⏱️🍳, some are comfort-food favorites 🥰🍲, and some are just too good not to pass along that you can make for your family. 🤤

🥢 Sweet & Sour Chicken 🍚

I love Asian and Chinese-inspired food! 🤤 But honestly… I’d much rather make it at home.

Not only does it taste fresher and have better quality than most takeout, but you get a lot more food for your money too. 🙌

This recipe does take a little extra prep with all the slicing, dicing, and making the sauce from scratch, but I promise it’s worth every minute. And let’s be honest… what good is a sweet and sour dish without an amazing homemade sauce? 😋

One tip I highly recommend: Cook the chicken in a cast-iron skillet. It gives the chicken an incredible golden sear and flavor that really takes this dish to the next level. 🍳🔥
I served this over white rice and broccoli.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared some recipes, I will be sharing several soon.

Does anyone else love breakfast for dinner? 🙋🏼‍♀️ It has always been one of my favorite easy comfort meals!

One of the best things about a quiche is how versatile it is. You can customize it with whatever you already have in your refrigerator, making it perfect for those nights when you’re overdue for a grocery run and wondering, “What am I going to make?” 😅

For this one, I kept it simple. I already had eggs, milk, cheese, a refrigerated pie crust, a couple of russet potatoes, and a little bacon on hand. After peeling and dicing the potatoes, everything came together into a hearty, flavorful meal that the whole family enjoyed.

Simple ingredients. Easy to make. Budget-friendly. And delicious! ❤️

There’s just something about banana bread made with bananas that look like they’re past their prime. 🍌😂 The more rotten they look, the better the banana bread turns out!

I’m definitely not much of a baker, but this recipe is so easy that I don’t even consider it baking. Every single time I make it, it disappears almost as fast as it comes out of the oven.
So before you toss those overripe bananas, save them! Trust me… they’re about to become something everyone will be asking for.

Spaghetti night… 🍝

Sometimes you just need something quick, easy… and seriously satisfying. And let’s be honest..spaghetti can either be basic… or it can be 🔥 depending on how you make it.

I’ve learned a few little “secret” upgrades over time that take it from average to what did you put in this?!

✨ Italian sausage for extra flavor
✨ A little brown sugar to balance the sauce
✨ And yes… bacon (because why not?)
Of course you can use whichever noodles you prefer.

I never said this one was the healthiest 😂 but it is packed with protein and absolutely hits the spot.

And let’s talk about the garlic bread for a second…

I haven’t bought store-bought garlic bread in I don’t even know how long. It’s SO easy to make in the air fryer and tastes fresher, crispier, and honestly just better it’s also so much cheaper!

Simple satisfying spaghetti!
