A little holiday season love from Louisville.

We’re excited to have our handmade vinyl record ornaments at Carmichael’s Bookstore in Louisville, Kentucky this season!

Carmichael’s has been a Louisville neighborhood staple since 1978, founded by Carol Besse and Michael Boggs and still family-owned today. With three stores and a long history of bringing people together around books, it feels like a pretty perfect home for our little record ornaments.

My son, who’s 9, recently saw this Vintage 5 video from 2016 for the first time. It was fun watching it with him and looking back at how much has changed over the last 10 years.

Back then, our Etsy shop was thriving. We were selling directly to customers, but we were also working with designers and production companies who were looking for specific vintage pieces for projects.

Fast forward to today, and a lot of things are still the same - we’re still hunting for cool vintage stuff and we still love what we do. But there have been some pretty big changes along the way.

We now have our retail space in Gallatin, TN, where we get to curate a shop and share all of those finds in person. We have a network of people that we work with to source amazing items. And our vinyl record ornaments, which started as a small handmade project, are now sold through retailers all across the country (while we still sell them on Etsy, too).

It’s pretty cool to look back at where we were 10 years ago and see where Vintage 5 has taken us. Here’s a little look back at 2016.

The vintage card section at Vintage 5 keeps growing in our Gallatin, TN shop.

What started as a few boxes has turned into over 45 different vintage card options and counting. From baseball and football favorites to non-sports classics like Back to the Future, Batman, and more, there’s always something new to dig through.

We’re adding cards weekly and working toward building what I believe is the best vintage card selection in Gallatin.

Whether you’re chasing childhood memories, hunting for stars, building sets, or just love the nostalgia of ripping through old wax and card boxes, stop by and take a look.
