The Calendula Rose Whipped Tallow

I took my grass fed tallow and infused it with organic calendula flowers and organic rose petals. I added an amazing blend of olive oil and sweet almond oil. Finally, I added a few drops of neroli, geranium, and sandalwood essential oil.

It's so smooth and creamy with a texture like lotion. Absorbs like a dream!

Calendula offers powerful soothing, hydrating, and healing properties for the skin. It calms irritation and supports skin repair.

Rose petals hydrate dry skin, calm redness, fight acne bacteria, tighten pores, and provide vitamin C antioxidants to brighten your complexion.

Grass-fed beef tallow closely mimics human sebum, making it a deeply nourishing natural moisturizer. It is rich in bioavailable vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as essential fatty acids like stearic and oleic acid that soothe dry skin, repair the skin barrier, and calm inflammation.

Olive oil provides deep hydration and antioxidant protection through squalene, vitamin E, and polyphenols. It softens dry patches, calms inflammation, and aids barrier repair, though it can clog pores on acne-prone skin.

Almond oil (specifically sweet almond oil) is a light, nourishing natural oil packed with vitamin E, fatty acids, and zinc. It deeply hydrates dry skin, soothes irritation, evens skin tone, and absorbs easily without clogging pores.

Neroli essential oil improves skin health by balancing oil production, fighting acne-causing bacteria, and providing antioxidants that reduce fine lines. It helps regenerate skin cells, fade scars, and soothe redness.

Geranium essential oil helps balance oil production, calm skin irritation, fight acne-causing bacteria, and tighten aging skin. It works well for oily, dry, and combination skin types.

Sandalwood oil provides powerful anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and emollient properties that soothe irritation, clear acne-causing bacteria, and lock in moisture. It helps balance skin tone, reduce the look of scars, and tighten pores for a smooth, youthful glow!

🧼 Why Does Handmade Soap Cost More Than Store-Bought Soap? 🫧

Have you ever looked at a handmade soap bar and thought…“Why is this little bar more expensive than the soap at the (insert big box store here)?” 🤔

It’s a fair question! The answer is simple: handmade soap & commercial bars are often made very differently.

When I make a batch of soap, I'm:

✋ Cutting, heating, cooling, straining and repeating this process with fresh grass fed fat from my sister's grass fed cows
🧪 Carefully formulating the recipe
🌿 Choosing & measuring each ingredient
🫧 Mixing small batches for superior quality
🧼 Pouring, waiting, unmolding, hand cutting and curing each and every batch of soap
⏳ Waiting 6-8 weeks for the soap to cure
🖨 Creating, printing, & labeling by hand
📦 Wrapping & labeling each bar individually
📷 Taking photos & sharing my soap
☺️ Answering questions, responding to messages and 🎧 to your feedback

Traditional handmade soap is made through saponification, the reaction between oils/fats and lye that creates soap and naturally occurring glycerin. The particular ingredients I use make an incredibly gentle and natural true soap.

(Soap/Science Nerd Alert): Many commercial “soap” bars are actually syndet bars (synthetic detergent bars). They are made with manufactured cleansing ingredients called surfactants. These products can still clean well but they’re just a different type of product.

Commercial bars are also made on a much larger scale, using formulas designed to be produced by the thousands.

Handmade soap is different.

Every batch is small. Every loaf is cut by hand. Every ingredient has a purpose.

A handmade bar isn’t just a cleaning product, it’s a small-batch product made by a person, not a machine producing thousands of identical bars.
