Guess what? We’re hosting a book swap with Reese’s Book Club 📚🍷☀️

Join us on Thursday, August 20th at 6:30 PM to sip some wine and swap some books! We encourage you to bring a book (ex: a favorite), a friend, and an eagerness to discover your next read. This will also be a great opportunity to make some new bookish friends, so we hope to see you there!

One of our favorite local authors teamed up with one of our favorite local publishers to create The ADHD FAQ- an approachable guide to ADHD with specific ideas and strategies anyone can use.

Join us on Thursday, 8/13 at 6:00pm at the bookshop for a quick presentation from Andrew, followed by a Q+A session.

This is a free event and all are encouraged to attend! Pre-orders are encouraged if you're planning on buying the book, so head on over to our website and reserve one for yourself today.

We've got some rad titles lined up for our Classics Book Club! Join us for discussions on Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut (8/12), Passing by Nella Larson (9/9), and Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen (10/14) 📚️

What had started as a way to introduce people to new classics and make required reading FUN has become made this club a fan favorite. Our bookclubs are great way to connect with other readers and discuss their reads, both new and old. Moderated by a beloved Spoke & Word Books community member, we'll discuss the book we're reading and share recommendations from other books we've been enjoying lately.

Come with friends or come make some new ones! Also, feel free to come even if you don't finish the book, we won't judge! This is a friendly group that enjoys welcoming new faces.

Register under the events tab on our website: tickets are free if you buy the book from us, or $7 if you bring your own copy.

We just got news that we were finalist for Best of Portland, and we are absolutely blushing! 🥰 There are so many wonderful indie bookstores in Portland and to even be considered amongst them, let alone land in the top three, absolutely FLOORS us. This wouldn't be possible without our amazing community that continues to show up and shower us with love. We are so lucky to have each and every one of you and each member of our team is SO grateful to share the utter delight that is reading with you. There is truly no where else we'd rather be! ❤️

Bonnie here! I read an advanced copy of IF THE MOON by and this spring and it is absolutely going to be a THRILL to handsell! It is so sweet, lyrical, and filled with the dreamiest illustrations, perfect for soothing ourselves for bedtime.
