Extreme Changes.

This can happen for multiple reasons. Assessment of the entire situation is key to overall outcomes.

This is a perfect example of natural colors mixed with maintenance over time.

Assess the integrity of the hair.
What are we working with?

This client saved their $ so they could be ready for vacation. Then left the salon with orange hair, and random patches of natural color left at the scalp.

Client was going to incorporate hair extensions. Another variable to the color correction.

-->This client originally sat for 4 hours, and left with orange hair. There are multiple variables happening. And, long care correction needed. Obvious by assessment prior to correction.

This hair, colored correctly, wouldn't be broken. I was very careful with the integrity of this palette.

Although this is a color change, it's definitely color correction at it's finest! 🤷‍♀️

This client had significant new growth, faded color and lightened hair that could be very easily compromised.

Desired outcome was platinum with black at the nape. Let's throw everything in there! 🤷‍♀️ 😎

Hair assessment will determine what can actually happen. It is the MOST essential tool.

While assessing it's very obvious there are 3 different starting levels of color. This is important to note, because while we were lightening for the platinum, pink popped through!! Old color molecule was still in the hair. Wasn't visible to the eye, would need a microscope to see it, but it was there.

Three formulas were necessary, just for the lighting process.
Then two different toners to neutralize the warm tones. And, of course, the black formula she wanted in the nape.

Wish I would have grabbed the inspiration 📸! Close as you're gonna get¡!

Hair integrity decides what can actually be achieved.

This beautiful client was so excited to get her hair done for vacation and she walked out of the salon with orange hair, and patches of natural hair still uncolored. Yes, she went to a local color "professional". A salon owner even.

With at least 4 levels of color and definitely some spots that were compromised, caution was a must with this correction!

This orange took 4 hours.

I have a lot of clients that go a long time between appointments. For many reasons.

This sweet soul wanted me to darken her formula because her hair was so light.

I didn't change her formula, a touch up and refresh of color through her ends did the trick! Between the length of time and the summer sunlight, color will fade.

One of my favorite colors recently. Warm blondes can be tricky. This one is always perfect.
