STORY TIME:
So as a beginner I am so excited to get an order (especially if it's not friends or family) that means my business is getting out to other people. So I get a DM from a lady who i dont know. GREAT right!?!? So we're messaging back and forth we start talking about pricing. She asks how much for a dozen Rice Krispie treats. I send her my price menu she says okay yes $25 for Rice Krispies great. She says I sent you venmo let me know when you get the email for it. So I wait a few minutes and I finally get an email saying that I have a $25 deposit. I read down a little bit further and it says to call a number because this is my first venmo payment.
Right away red flags go off no not doing that not calling a number so I message her and say hey this is what it says. She says can you screenshot the email and send it to me. So I did. She then tells me oh no it's fine just call the number this happened to me last week. I kindly told her no I'm not doing that sorry for the inconvenience you can cancel on your end have a good day.
So I figure got to tell the good stories with the bad stories so that was my first Horror Story if you will. But im not going to let it deter me just please if this happens to anyone else please be mindful about calling numbers that you don't know. Especially with all of the scams that are out in the world had I not been smart I probably could have lost a lot of money.
