Google Lens to the rescue??? Not always!!!
I pulled out a couple of feedsacks that a friend found in a local store and purchased on my behalf. (Thanks Debbie!) I didn’t get a good chance to look them over prior to retreat so wanted to fully inspect them today.
Lo and behold, I caught a glimpse of a tiny logo mark for a Fulton Fulprint sack. They are often hard to spot, and they don’t appear more than a very few times on a bag (3 or 4 perhaps).
I put Google Lens to the test to identify it. Not only did it surmise it was embroidery, it also decided it was not on a flour or feedsack!
Well I got news for them!! 🤪
I’ve added a few of the AI responses. I searched with a variety of terms to actually give it hints several times. But still…I’m proud to say my brain beat out the Google! 😂😂😂😂

Hey all…if you are going to be anywhere near Paducah on August 15th, plan to stop by The Yellow Daffodil!
I haven’t made the trip yet, but I follow on Facebook and love the bargains she carries in her shop!!!

Shop stop #2 in Hannibal, MO yesterday was The Encore Emporium. Love shopping there!! Always interesting things to see and ponder about!
I laughed when I got to the booth that had once held feedsacks. Wiped out!!!! That’s what I get for watching so many of the retreaters go into town shopping during the week and me waiting until the trip home! 😂😂😂😂😂 But I’m so happy my friends were able to stock up!

My first stop to shop “on my way home” (actually it was in the opposite direction and added an hour to my trip…but worth it!) was at The Bluebird Hannibal. What a lovely place to shop! The booths are so well staged it takes you back in time. I bought a few pieces that I’ll share later on. In the meantime here are a few pics of the shop!

Looks like an interesting read for those of us that have a love of quilts and their history!!

😭I always hate leaving my friends and this fabulous retreat spot!!
Seriously, if you ever have an opportunity to retreat at Sprague's Kinderhook Lodge…take it!!
They even have open retreats available for those that don’t have an organized group to attend with or no room in left in the group’s plan!
Big thanks to Andy and Karen, owners of the most spectacular retreat center around!!! 🥰😘
Now…off to Hannibal, MO to shop before I go home! 🤭

I can’t believe this is our last night at retreat already. Time really does fly when you are having fun!!
Last night some of us attended the Hannibal quilt guild’s meeting and heard a talk about toy sewing machines. Fun!
Met friend and follower Pam D. Saw my friend Sharon Watesney who does the most beautiful pieces using dye. Yesterday was busy, busy!
Today has been a day of more sewing, eating (of course), and tons of visiting and laughs! Kelly Cline Quilting showed her techniques of Kawandi style quilting, Vicki shared her experience taking a Gees Bend workshop in L.A., Kathy shared her singlade ball making and I did a lightning round tutorial on making a thumb pincushion!
No wonder we are all getting a bit tired!

More creating today! Pincushions, needlebook, and project bag. I’ll add finishing touches to all of them at home. 😊

Mary had a little lamb..and a few beads. When she gets back to my house, this feedsack surrounded embroidered lamb will be filled with crushed walnut shells and ready for your pins!
I’ll let you know when it’s added to my shop later in the week!🤗
