Beause sometimes liberation starts sprawled out in the grass, lost in a story that makes you laugh, think, remember, dream, or see the world a little differently.

That's the energy we're bringing to Book•ish 2026! 📚☀️

Plan to be there! ✨Sunday, July 19, from Noon-3:00 pm at Baxter Community Center. Free registration here: givebutter.com/bookish2026

July 2 at The Garden Theater was an evening filled with wisdom, authenticity, laughter, and powerful reminders about the importance of owning our stories! It was a privilege to attend The Revelation of Dionne Daphne tour stop in Detroit and listen to ✨Mara Brock Akil speak about her life, her creative journey, and her debut novel.

For years, Mara has shaped culture through stories that have helped so many of us feel seen—from Girlfriends and The Game to Being Mary Jane and beyond. But hearing her speak about her work in person was something different!

My heart and mind are full. 📚❤ ~Kendra
