⚡ Protect Your VFD and Motor from Hidden Problems

The cable between your drive and motor matters. Standard wire can contribute to electrical noise, shaft currents, nuisance faults, and premature motor bearing damage, all of which can lead to costly downtime.

Southwire Shielded VFD Cable is designed to help:
✔ Reduce EMI and electrical noise
✔ Extend motor life
✔ Improve system reliability
✔ Reduce maintenance and downtime
✔ Support safer, cleaner installations

Don't let the wrong cable become the weakest link in your automation system. Learn more & shop now ➡️ https://bit.ly/4xdEV8A?

📹 New ES&E TV video!

In this video, ES&E's Mark Garner talks to Patrick Donoghue from Hammond Power Solutions to talk about IEEE 519. Complying with IEEE 519 matters because excessive harmonics can quietly reduce reliability, increase operating costs, and create power quality problems across an electrical system. IEEE 519 provides recommended limits for harmonic distortion, so that one facility's nonlinear loads (VFDs, rectifiers, UPS systems, LED drivers, etc.) don't negatively impact the utility or neighboring equipment. 💥 Flash Back Friday! Learn how to use the PowerFlex 520 series PID mode with trim capabilities. PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) is a control loop feature that maintains process feedback, such as pressure, flow, or tension, at a desired set point by subtracting feedback from the reference to generate an error value. The PowerFlex 523 has one PID control loop, while the PowerFlex 525 has two, though only one can be used at a time. This video also covers how to use PID with trim control using CCW software.

Is your team being asked to do more with digital transformation without adding more time, resources, or complexity?

If you're already using Rockwell Automation controls, you may have capabilities within your existing PLCs and control systems that aren't being fully utilized. And where additional capabilities are needed, there are technologies and services available that can help you take the next step. Our Digital Transformation specialist, Jeremy Oxendine, works with OEMs to review their current control systems to understand their engineering and production challenges. We'll identify opportunities where existing capabilities or additional solutions from ES&E and Rockwell Automation could help.

💡 That could mean making better use of operational data already available in your machines, exploring tools such as AI-assisted development, or identifying services that can help reduce the workload on your engineering and production teams.

⚙️ Our on-site Engineering Workshop is a focused 60–90-minute conversation with your team about how you're building machines today, the challenges you're facing, and opportunities to improve efficiency, capabilities, and engineering productivity.
