Fridge not cooling?
As seasons and temperatures change, so does your fridge. It has to adjust to outside temps and the amount of cooling power needed based on it's environment.
Here are a few things I advise customers to do in the meantime until we can get to them for a dispatch..
Is your fridge surrounded? Cabinets or walls all around it? This restricts airflow and causes debris to buildup and clog systems. Pull your unit out best you can, let it breathe and dust around everything you can.
What about the inside of you unit? Too much storage can also cause a lack of airflow, which causes systems to overwork and eventually causing further damage. Almost like a traffic jam. Merge and Purge weekly to help with proper storage and airflow. Symptoms can include excess condensation, temperature variations by shelves and lack of cooling in either units.
What about cooling power settings? Newer units are typically ran by a digital thermostat while older units run by damper settings. If your unit has damper settings, (ex. 1-8) I'll advise customers to lower the settings. Don't choose the max cool setting, instead set your damper just below recommended, typically 2 or 3. This allows the unit to take a break and recalibrate, especially through season changes.
Usually, customers call me back to cancel their dispatch because this helped. It may not of solved a major issue, but it did buy some time and save some money, meanwhile getting to know their fridge a little better.
