What is Seshin' Sunday (the Sunday Session)?
What are skill toys & flow arts?

Seshin' Sunday is our skill-toy and flow-arts meet-up that happens every 1st and 3rd Sunday at 6pm on/around the Hart Commons. Skill-toys and flow arts combine object manipulation with body movement, dance, or martial arts. Practitioners use specialized props to execute rhythmic, mesmerizing patterns and physical tricks. This hobby builds hand-eye coordination, focus, and a meditative state of motion known as "flow". Popular examples include kendama, poi, hula hoops, contact and dragon staffs, juggling props, fiber optic whips, and devilsticks/ flower sticks.

Come check it out! Remember though, as it says in the flyer, there are no community props to use yet.

Hello friends, please read! I'm building up the gaming, play, & art space in the back of the store, and I could use your help. This space is free for anyone to use as long as they're respectful of the store and others.

Here's what I'm hunting for:

Wall stuff & shelf stuff – donations of posters, tapestries, wall art, games, books, manga, magazines, and drawing supplies. Themes that fit the vibe: anime, gaming, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, pop-culture, saloon, alchemist shop, old world general store, and anything else that fits what I have here.

Furniture – two matching café tables + 4 chairs (chairs just need to match each other). Sturdy enough to survive daily public use.

Cleanup – commercial/restaurant style trash and recycle cans.

For my PC/server/networking friends – this one's a long shot, but I've got a full-size server rack sitting empty in my garage that I'd love to start filling. Looking for computer/server/networking gear that isn't crazy outdated (roughly 2015-or-newer?). Goal is to eventually host small game servers, the store NVR, and other homelab style projects.

I run the store as lean as I can, so there's little cash to work with, but I'm happy to take things on donation, or work out a deal on the bigger items: store credit, gift certificates, etc..

A note on donations: anything donated will not be resold for profit. If I can't use it at the shop, I may gift it to someone who can. If I ever do sell something, that money goes right back into the space. If you'd rather I just do whatever's useful with it, let me know.

Got extra stuff that's still good but you don't want to trash it? Shoot me a dm or drop it at the shop during business hours!

Remember when flyers and menus all looked different? If you're going to use AI, at the very LEAST proof read the darn thing.

Also, it messes up your logos. Please do not add my logos into any of your AI signage. I will gladly send you the .png or .svg to use, of whichever part of my logo or wordmark you need. Mine has already been messed up numerous times, and it feels like crap when someone runs it through AI and it changes things I worked hours on to get right through dozens of layers. That reminds me, I need to update my logos around the internet to use to new vector remakes.

Just had my first successful ESL tutoring session! I'm helping others practice and learn English. :) I'm excited to see their growth and mine over this journey. Thanks to the tips about working with Read Muskegon when I had asked about resources for learning Spanish to help with my business. It was suggested I could offer my native English-speaking skills and maybe pick up some Spanish as I was helping others. That has motivated me to study at least a little Spanish every day, and it is even helping me learn more about English so that I can bring my best to my students.

If you are a customer of mine who speaks Spanish, feel free to speak and teach me a bit when you come through!
