Second chances are real. ❤️
I received one a long time ago, and I have never forgotten what it meant to be given an opportunity to move forward.
I have overcome a lot to get here as a business owner, including years of domestic violence in my prior relationship and some very difficult chapters in my life. None of it was easy, and I know that the person I am today was built through everything I survived, learned, and chose to become. 🌱
That is part of why mentorship matters so much to me. I believe in creating opportunities without making someone’s past the headline. People deserve the dignity of being able to grow, work, learn, and simply be themselves.
Through my partnership with Five Keys, I am continuing that work with my interns. We are building professional skills, learning the business, and creating an environment where wellness can be part of the workday too. Gardening, yoga, creativity, and time to reconnect are all part of the experience. 🪴🧘🏽♀️✨
To me, mentoring is not about putting someone’s story on display. It is about being present, sharing what I have learned, answering questions, opening doors, and helping someone recognize possibilities for themselves.
I never want to forget where I came from, because everything I have overcome is part of why I lead the way I do today.
I was given a second chance.
Now I have the privilege of creating more opportunities for other people. ❤️🔥🗝️
