If you would like to better understand what happened to the Hood River Trading Post, it is explained in the letters written by owner, White Buffalo Calf Wannassay, to the Hood River City Council.

You may also view the Hood River City Council Meetings on YouTube where she reads the letters to The Council in person. Link to the YouTube channel is posted below. Match the date on the letter to the date of the video.

Community members are each given three minutes to speak right after the opening rituals. For those of you who do take the time to read or listen, White Buffalo Calf thanks you.

She has written a total of 8 consecutive letters to Hood River City Council between 10/12/21 and 2/14/22. Still, The City of Hood River has done nothing to acknowledge or correct the problems and injustices White Buffalo Calf exposes about the City of Hood River.

Dear White Buffalo Calf Trading Post Consigners and Shoppers-

The retail Trading Post in Downtown Hood River was closed on October 31, 2021. There were some unforeseen challenges with the City of Hood River and we do not feel safe to reopen at this time.

We are in the process of settling all consignment accounts and returning/donating any items left for resale over the next 60 days. Please direct any questions to [email protected].

Thanks to all who supported the very first White Buffalo Calf Trading Post location in Hood River, Oregon. We miss our customers dearly and hope to reopen again some day if Great Spirit is willing.

Currently the White Buffalo Calf Trading Post is being “reborn” and we welcome you to follow us on the journey.
