Well... today was the day.
I watched my daughter drive away to head back to college and get ready for sorority recruitment. No matter how many times you've done it, watching them pull away never gets easier.
Whether you're sending your first child to college or your fourth, it's such a strange mix of emotions. You're excited for them because they're exactly where they're supposed to be, but your house suddenly feels a little quieter, and your heart feels a little fuller and a little emptier all at the same time.
I know so many families are getting ready for move in over the next couple of weeks, so I just wanted to say... I'm thinking about you.
Be proud of the amazing young adults you've raised. Give yourself permission to miss them. And don't be surprised if you find yourself standing in their empty room for a minute wondering where the time went.
Wishing all of our college students an incredible year filled with new friendships, unforgettable memories, and lots of growth. And sending an extra hug to all the parents because this part isn't always easy.
We've got this. 💜
