I’m home, unpacked, and moving through orders from , getting them shipped. I was pretty booth bound, but snuck out a bit!

Setup always takes a bit of time, then we sold out at Sample It (amazing), caught up with with the beautiful , got to say hello to some of ’ staff, eating a few too many tootsie rolls, caught one snap of my very best booth assistant, spent a pre-show day at the Art Institute, and at the end celebrated with friends with a very safe for me Celiac-friendly meal.

Whirlwind trip, and an exhausting two weeks by the conclusion of it.

And of course I managed to snag my own fun things along the way. 💛 All work and no play, well that’s a dumb idea. I’ll take all of the fiber arts, thankyouverymuch.

I’ve been waiting to get some stitched up, but I’m really slow. So, I figure I should go ahead and tell you - we now have stick & stitch patterns! There are four sets for visible mending and three sets of embroidery patterns.

I know most stitches spend their time with fabric, but it’s been a hot minute for me! Now I’m just stuck in decision paralysis over which wardrobe piece to stitch up first.

Things I learned about myself while running a small business:

1. I love seeing people at markets. (Next one is this weekend ’s CraftFest!) 💛💛💛

2. I don’t enjoy the pressure of marketing, especially chasing algorithms. Social media is just not my strong suit, personally or professionally. 🫠 I may need to hire help.

3. Email is better than socials but the void is deafening. See #1, I just love actual interaction. 🫥 I have not gained any consistency or flow.

4. I adore teaching. Seriously, it’s all the best things rolled up into one. I started teaching up in Davidson in December and am super happy to set up private classes and events. 😆 It’s keeping me going.

5. The flow of putting kits together is really zen for me. But I really love experimenting with new things. 😎

6. I need out of the house more, or an open studio type place… ‘cause people. 🙃 Alas, not in the cards just yet. It’s my dream tho!

More mini-kits coming up. Also, something new this debuts weekend!! Any guesses?

We sold out of several kits over the weekend and while I’m pleased by that, it’s also stressful! Why? Because I can get everything needed for a kit quickly… other than the Cosmo floss we use.

I have 4 more of the Daisy kits I can make before more floss arrives and that’s it. (No promises floss will arrive in time for holiday shipping cutoffs!)

SO!

1. If you’re local, Pop has several on hand and ready to go! It’s a fantastic shop near Uptown and open 10-7 daily.
