DON’T LET YOUR SPACE TALK YOU OUT OF HOSTING

You don’t need the “perfect” backyard to have a great party—you may just need to get a little creative.

For our backyard wedding, we turned our hot tub into the cocktail-hour table by adding a custom tabletop and a greenery wall around it. We hung some mirrors, placed plants and candles on it and it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the setup! We used a tiny space behind it to place the bar and the area to the other side was for our band. What was previously an unusable area ended up being just what we needed.

Before deciding your space won’t work, take another look at it. That awkward corner, small patio or permanent fixture might be something you can work around—or even turn into one of the best parts of your party.
