Join us for our First Friday Skill Share today! This is a casual workshop that anyone can drop into from 11am-4pm. We are asking for a $10 suggested donation to help cover supplies and continue our programming.
June's event explores how to create a mixtape. Find a vinyl record in the store and build a playlist with visitors, neighbors, artists, and friends. We have 90 minutes to fill!
If you're feeling adventurous we have a j-card template for you to design a cover for our mixtape. After the event we will post everyone's covers and make copies of the tape available to pick up in store. If you did not design a cover you can still pick up a copy of the tape when they are done. 📻
Please note that HQ Books & Records will be closed from 4pm-6pm to reset for First Friday at the CAMi!

Rest In Peace, Marjane Satrapi! ♥️
Folks have asked us why we have so many copies of Persepolis available in the shop.
Many of our titles are misfit books--they are a little worn, they may have writing in them, and some are rescued from classrooms like Persepolis where they are banned. These are all classroom copies a teacher was forced to remove.
Grab a copy today and honor the legacy of Marjane Satrapi. Persepolis has changed and challenged many lives. Let us continue the tradition of telling our stories, exploring Punk, and celebrating graphic novels!

We are producing a set of IMHP trading cards featuring many of our oral history subjects as well as topical cards detailing significant record labels, venues, and more related to Hoosier music history. Our goal is to have cards out by the end of summer and sets will be available to purchase. Stay tuned for card updates all through June and July!

Wheels are now on our middle bins and we are able to move them just in time for Authentic Resource Summer Creative Programming! ✏️ Get hyped for three opportunities each month to contribute to multiple zines, learn some skills, and spend quality time with folks. So much room for activities! 😄
