FOMO is a real thing man... Good on this gentleman for making what he feels is a good decision, it's perfectly okay to not have the new thing, especially if you're just buying it because it's a little different (looking at you people who upgrade phones every year 🤨)
However, this does bring up an interesting point... Why are you collecting?
All I have to go on is what he said, and one sentence in particular stuck out to me: "... no special edition Switch 1 consoles have kept their value, not even Zelda or Pokemon."
Seems to me like for this guy, he really has to feel like his purchase is going to have a net equity benefit (at least in this instance), which has me wondering if I feel the same way?
The answer is no lol I don't really care how much my stuff is worth, or how much it goes up or down. Sure, it would suck if my $20k+ collection cut in half tomorrow, but I wasn't planning on selling it anyways 🤷♂️ if anything, that means the market corrected and I can go buy more lol
I guess all that being said, I'm just a hoarder 👀
