So many things to celebrate around here today!

My beloved Juki is home and purring like a kitten again. 🎶 My right arm and shoulder continue to gain range of motion. 💪 And with two crossbody bags finished and ready to find new homes, I’m officially feeling that creative groove again!

Next up: shopping totes! 🛍️

I’ve got some beautiful fabric picked out, the notions are ready, and now it’s time to turn it all into something uniquely Marcie Made. ❤️🧵

Here’s to progress, creativity, and getting back to doing what I love!

Y’all! I can’t believe it—I hired a model exclusively for Marcie Made! 😂

Standing approximately 5’7” tall and weighing a svelte 4.1 pounds, please allow me to introduce Julie. 💃

Julie came to us with absolutely no modeling experience, no résumé, and, frankly, no discernible skills whatsoever. She doesn’t speak, doesn’t complain, works for free, and is perfectly content to stand in one spot for hours on end.

In other words, she interviewed beautifully. 😂

My son named her Julie. When I asked him why, he said, “I don’t know. She just looks like a Julie.”

And you know what? She DOES.

Julie is a woman who’s all beauty and no brain. She’s already dressed for the job and ready to model Marcie Made bags like the consummate professional she is.

Please join me in welcoming Julie, Marcie Made’s newest—and only—staff model.

I have a feeling you’ll be seeing a lot of her. 😏👜

Motivational Monday: Patience Is a Virtue… Apparently. 🧵😬

I’m motivated. I’m ready. I’m finally getting back into my sewing groove after a very long hiatus.

My sewing machine, however, has other plans. 😂

In less than 48 hours, I’ve broken TEN needles. Yes. TEN. And now the bobbin has decided to throw a full-blown toddler tantrum.

So today’s motivation comes courtesy of a lesson I apparently need to keep learning: patience. Lots and lots of patience. 😇

Tomorrow, my beloved Juki and I will be taking a little field trip to a sewing machine repair shop. Fingers crossed they know their way around a Juki, because the nearest certified service center is about 100 miles away—and neither Juki nor I are interested in that road trip. 😂

I may not be sewing today, but I’m not giving up, either. Sometimes moving forward means knowing when to stop fighting with your equipment before you launch it across the room. 😉

🎉 FriYAY! Look who’s back at her sewing machine! 🧵✂️

Here I am! I’m back at my machine again! 🎶
(If you’re now hearing The Babys’ “Back on My Feet Again” in your head, you’re welcome. 😂)

For the first time in NINE MONTHS, I’ve almost finished a bag! 🙌 Just the strap left to go on this cute little paisley crossbody, and she’ll officially be done.

I’m not gonna lie—the process felt a little like starting over. I had to stop and refer to my own tutorial several times along the way. Apparently, my sewing muscle memory needed a refresher course. 😂

Is it perfect? Nope.

But it’s unique. It’s handmade with love. And, of course, it’s Marcie Made. 💜

And after nine months away from my machine, that feels pretty darn perfect to me.

🎉 TGIFriYAY! 🎉

This week has been a reminder that healing isn’t always a straight line.

A physical therapy session two days ago triggered a fibromyalgia flare that had me down for the count for a couple of days. While that wasn’t part of the plan, I’m listening to my body, giving it the grace it deserves, and reminding myself that rest is part of recovery—not a setback.

The good news? 🌞 Only FIVE more days until vacation! I can hardly wait to recharge, spend time with family and friends, and come home ready to keep moving forward.

To everyone who’s had a week that didn’t quite go as planned, remember this: every small step still counts—even if today’s biggest accomplishment is simply taking care of yourself. 💜

🌼 Motivational Monday 🌼

While many people spent the holiday weekend celebrating with family, friends, cookouts, and fireworks, I spent most of mine … sleeping.

Not exactly how I planned to celebrate Independence Day.

Sometimes our bodies make the plans for us. As frustrating as it is, I’m learning that recovery—actually, my life in general—doesn’t always run on anyone’s schedule.

So today’s Motivational Monday isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about extending ourselves the same grace we’d so freely give someone else.

If you’re feeling rested and ready to conquer the week, I’m cheering you on (see my friend, Droopy, giving you a little 'Yay').

If you’re starting Monday a little slower, a little more tired, or carrying a little more than usual, that’s okay too. One small step is still a step forward.

💜 It’s FriYAY! 💜

Some weeks, progress looks like finishing a project.

Some weeks, progress looks like showing up for OT/PT, celebrating a little more range of motion, and reminding yourself that every stitch starts with a single thread.

I'm not quite back behind my beloved Juki yet, but every day I'm one step closer. Until then, I'm gathering ideas, dreaming up new designs, and getting excited for what's ahead at Marcie Made.

Sometimes the best creations need a little extra time ... and so do their makers. 😊
