I don't have the signs right and I don't have the mowing right, but these flowers decided it was time.

No sunflowers in bloom just yet. They are coming, though!

The wild flowers have started. Zinnias and blue bells and much more. Enjoy the farm at your leisure until the sunflowers start to come into bloom.

We've minimized the planting this year with the pervasive drought conditions. More fertilizer, more water, fewer flowers. We've got taller, healthier plants than the previous two years.

We used a hydroseeder to plant wildflowers a couple of weeks ago. We also drilled sunflowers. While we've had germination, but we really needed rain to have healthy, tall plants. This has been the driest year to date in 132 years(drought.gov). This rain is much needed.

Wish the sunflowers would grow as vigorously as the sickle pod and grass. Nonetheless, our fall colors have germinated and are right on schedule. We've got two very strong patches that should be ready in a few weeks. We may have just enough time to replant two other patches before the growing season ends. Even though we've got a break in the blooms, it's not over for the year.

We planted two patches of fall color sunflowers last night, just before the rain. There's a bit of a gap between blooms at this time, but some really strong plants.

If you have chickens or like bird watching, you are free to pick as many dead heads as you wish.

With this tropical storm rolling through we'll get the rain we need. There's a patch with some really small flowers coming into bloom. They're pretty small and probably will be challenging for photographers, although excellent for vases. Fall colors are expected to be planted this week. We just need about 24 dry hours to till and plant.

Currently in bloom flowers are thinning. Plenty of young plants thirsty for rain and they'll pop right up. More have been planted and just a couple days away from germination. Fall colors will be planted in about 10 days.
