In 1841, Queen Victoria was 22 years old when she gave birth to future King Edward VII. Still very much a youth, the portrait on this shilling is known as the "Second Young Head" which ran from 1839 to 1867. According to NGC, this is the only 1841 Shilling in XF40, with only 12 NGC examples in a finer grade despite 875,000 being minted. This is hardly surprising as the shilling was the engine of the British economy and thus was heavily circulated, making this coin a rarity in even XF40. Want it?
