Preorders are open for our next pickup and market day. We’ll be at The Train Depot this Sunday, Sept. 13 with mini loaf flights and half loaves. We will have a limited quantity this week so I highly encourage preordering if you want to guarantee your items are available.

I was asked to make a bracelet as a birthday gift, which gave me the perfect excuse to finally sit down and make some more resin jewelry after being out of stock for a while.

I’d also really been wanting to use these tiny shells that my mom and kids and I found while creek walking recently. I love how this pendant turned out! My tiniest mushroom pendants are the best seller but I may have to keep making the creek-themed items, at least for fun and dopamine 😁 I grew up playing in Kentucky creeks and now my kids usually choose to skip the splash park for a walk in the creek instead ❤️

There’s a lot that happens to a loaf of my sourdough before it ever makes it to your table.

Baking sourdough bread is already a slow process, but when I’m making larger batches for markets or preorders, I spread it out over three days. As a cottage baker working from a small kitchen with one oven, it takes a little planning and creativity.

Day 1: Mix ingredients with the sourdough starter I fed the night before, add any inclusions, do stretch and folds, let it bulk ferment on the counter, then move it into the fridge overnight.

Day 2: Divide and shape all the loaves, put them in baking pans or proofing baskets, then return them to the fridge for more cold proofing.

Day 3: Finally time to bake the loaves, let everything cool completely, label, and package it all up.

It’s definitely not a quick process, but this is the rhythm I’ve found that gives the dough the time it needs to develop its flavor while also making larger batches a little more manageable around family life and everything else going on around here. ❤️

A recent bulk order of garlic & herb sourdough focaccia!

We’re happy to take small bulk orders with a little advance notice of just about anything we make. Focaccia, mini loaf flights, or even a mix of our handmade items can make a great gift for employees, coworkers, teachers, clients, or anyone you want to treat.

A couple years ago, we grew 18 different varieties of peppers. This year we grew three.

Junior had come up with a few hot sauce recipes that we absolutely loved, and family and friends who tried them were begging for more. We took the microprocessor class, got the license, made the labels, and submitted the recipes for approval. Somewhere in there due to the timing we had to go ahead and plant all the peppers so they would be ready. Then, we found out hot sauce is almost impossible to get approved without jumping through some extra hoops we just didn’t have the time or money for.

So we regrouped, and landed on pepper jelly. It’s definitely not what we had in mind, and I still have dreams of making and selling his absolutely amazing Peach Mango hot sauce once we have more of our ducks in a row, but for now, pepper jelly it is.

He asked me if I grew these habaneros so he would make hot sauce for us, and the answer is yes, I absolutely did 😂

Ada helped me restock our sourdough starter kits this week. Most of my kids are getting older and usually have their own things going on, so I love getting to include them whenever I can!

If you ever see us at a farmer’s market, Ada is often there with me. She is a huge help, and has made her own bracelets to sell too.
