Looks like we’ve been brewing a little something for the Joplin Public Library…

This Friday, the Teen Boba Bar is back, and Potions & Brews is supplying the syrups!

We put together a few flavors specifically for this one, and I’m keeping those under wraps for now. You’ll have to stop by and see what we sent over.

Grades 6–12 can stop in Friday from 4:30–5:30 for a free drink, some crafts, and a place to hang out.

I absolutely love getting to do things like this with the library

Now the real question: what flavor are you hoping we sent?

ROYAL DISORDER — PART II

Because apparently 10 photos were not enough to contain the chaos. 😂

Royal Disorder Tattoo Expo was one incredible weekend.

We poured a ridiculous number of drinks, made new friends, met some incredibly talented people, saw some amazing art, made a new wholesale connection, acquired an adorable little crocheted potion bottle who has officially joined the Potions & Brews family, and somehow ended up with a dragon as our newest delivery system. 🐉🧪

But Part II is really about the people behind the weekend.

To everyone who stopped by the booth, grabbed a drink, picked up a bottle, came back for another round, sent someone our way, or just stopped to hang out with us — thank you. Getting to meet you, talk with you, and watch people genuinely enjoy what we’ve built is what makes these crazy weekends worth it.

And a very special thank you to my crew for putting up with three straight days of my shenanigans, questionable decisions, constant chaos, unreasonable demands, and general mistreatment. 😂 You jumped in wherever I needed you, kept things moving when we got slammed, and somehow continued speaking to me by the end of Sunday.

I could not have pulled this weekend off without you. I appreciate every one of you more than you know. 🖤

To our neighboring vendors, artists, organizers, new friends, and familiar faces — thank you for making us feel right at home. Royal Disorder was exhausting, chaotic, wonderfully weird, and exactly our kind of place.

We came home tired, grateful, full of stories, and already looking forward to the next one.

And fortunately, we won’t have to wonder if we’re coming back…

P.S. Somehow the Potions Master spent THREE DAYS at a tattoo expo and came home without a new tattoo. I have no excuse. I accept full responsibility for this failure.

Three days at the Royal Disorder
Tattoo Expo, and somehow the Potions Master left without a new tattoo.

Not sure how I managed that one.

But what an absolutely incredible weekend for Potions & Brews.

We poured a LOT of drinks. We ran out of milk twice. Ran out of sweet cream. Went through gallons of water. Ran out of coffee and had to make an emergency restock. The espresso machine WORKED. The latte art… well, we’re still working on that part.

We brought the syrups, broke out the espresso bar, served up some ridiculous drinks, made some new friends, and even made a new wholesale connection.

And I got one of my favorite reviews we’ve ever received: a young lady wearing a Dunkin’ shirt tried our Pumpkin Spice Cookie Butter Espresso Latte and informed me that ours was better than Dunkin’. I will be accepting this as an official victory.

Another customer told me she plans to drive 45 minutes every Saturday to Empire Market just to get her drink. I offered to sell her the syrup so she could make it at home.

She essentially told me, absolutely not, I’ll see you Saturday.

Fair enough.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who stopped by, tried something new, came back for another drink, grabbed a bottle, talked with us, helped us, or just made this weekend memorable.

And apparently we did something right, because our spot is already secured for Royal Disorder 2027.

THE POTIONS MASTER HAS ENTERED THE TATTOO EXPO.

We’re officially set up at the Royal Disorder Tattoo Expo, and the syrups are stacked, the drinks are flowing, and the Crimson Eclipse is already looking ridiculous under these expo lights.

Come find Potions & Brews / A Sip Above this weekend for handcrafted drinks, our small-batch simple syrups, and our full fall lineup — including some drinks you’re only going to catch here at the expo.

Before the dirty sodas, chai lattes, teas, cold foams, and everything else you see us pouring today, Potions & Brews started with simple syrups.

And we’re still brewing them.

Our handcrafted, small-batch simple syrups are made to take home and make the magic yourself — whether you’re adding them to coffee, tea, lemonade, dirty sodas, cocktails, mocktails, desserts, or whatever else you can come up with.

We couldn’t show up to the Royal DisorderTattoo Expo without brewing something specifically for the occasion.

Introducing MANA BURST — an expo-exclusive dirty soda made with Fanta Grape, Blue Raspberry, and Lime for a bold, electric grape-and-citrus potion.

And when we say exclusive, we mean it.

Mana Burst is ONLY available at the Royal Disorder Tattoo Expo. Once the expo is over, this potion goes back into the vault.
