ICE is in my neighborhood
Climate change F**ked my adult kids life plans (landslides and road wash outs closed their housing)
As a former professional community organizer, even I am feeling heavy, overwhelmed, constricted, and more.
As a correct Lutheran minister, my eyes and heart are with MN and all the trauma they are experiencing hour after hour.
As a maker I’m knitting Melt the ICE Norwegian protest hats and praying into every stitch that this is done before anything else happens.

so here’s a plea from and for me: Wear a whistle, find joy, make friends with your neighbors, and let the things slide that you can’t attend to so you can show up now. This is not ok. We are not ok. The United States farce is up. F**K ICE.

In this past few weeks and months I’ve been slowing down and relishing some stillness while this world feels a bit (⬅️ understatement) wild. I didn’t do any holiday markets and didn’t keep my website up to date, but I did love a life worth living. Here’s some of how I spent my time:
1- I let my 8yo do all the ribboning of our holiday wrapping by themself
2- I supported friends and makers by buying their art (magic by )
3- I witnessed my art being loved in the wild ( )
4- I found true love in my new style vibe - hipster garden gnome chic (thanks for the language )
5- I relished good coffee in my new coffee pot. So tasty!
6- visible mending was REQUESTED by my 14yo cool son (I mean- the honor!)
7- I pick up some knitting needles again after a long hiatus (new socks for me!)
All things to say, smithing and jewelry is not over for me, not by a long shot, but the hustle of consumerism and capitolistic anxiety certainly is. If you see something you like, dm me! If you want something custom - I’d be honored to partner with you (currently working on a WEDDING BAND!)! But let’s let 2026 be a year of slowing the F down, diving deeply into our own joy, celebrating diversity and community and making art, and gird our loins for the hard things ahead. We can be a people who thrive and there’s room for us all to do so. But maybe we don’t need as much as we thought to get there. Maybe we just need to love harder, hope bolder, and show up as we are. Happy new year babes.
