š©·Iāve wondered how long it would take before I felt like I needed to explain where Iāve been. I have a ācalled down to the principal officeā type of feeling whenever I think about it, but I know my community of sensory seekers would always support me. There have been two main things weighing on me and my family. (Thereās always something right?)
š©·Let me start off with telling you about my sister Corren. She was one of my very first customers and supporters through Wiggle Worm Sensory, and was always the first one to ask when a show was coming up, so she could drive from Tri-Cities and support us. August 20th, she passed away from her second round of cancer. Thereās not a second in my day when I donāt think of her, especially as I look at Clara, who was her absolute biggest fan. Itās not the same here without her. For anyone who has lost a sibling, it is a pain unimaginable. Thereās always something I want to tell her about or text her, but then I remember and the grief comes flooding back. š©·Secondly, I have a Kindergartener. From a rough first year of being a Mama and pumping, to raising her primarily through a pandemic, we have been inseparable for the last 6 years. I knew homeschooling wasnāt in her best interest, so we decided to put her into public school. She is loving it. We are trying to create a new normal, but I wonāt lie, Iāve cried a lot this past week! I used to have to make sure she had her three special binkies in her bed at night, and now sheās closing the car door after being dropped off in the valet line. Time is a thief.Ā š©·Why am I telling you all of this? I hope you understand itās not to gain sympathy or to make you feel sorry for me, itās to create an understanding of how I have truly wanted to be there creating and supporting the community through sensory, Iāve just not had the energy or mental capacity to do so. However, Iām finding myself slowly reentering the world, trying to find my way back. I have a few events Iāll be sharing and canāt wait to be apart of, plus I have a few new ideas up my sleeve I canāt wait to share about. Thanks for waiting on me, Iām coming back š©·
