Inspired by the quiet beauty beneath the trees, the Forest Floor shawl by Marci Marra was inspired by the rhythm of fallen pine needles and leaves, slender twigs, and the last hints of flowers as the seasons turn. What could be a tangle of shapes and colors reveals nature’s pattern in the chaos.
The project is worked flat using charts and mosaic knitting. It begins at the bottom point with slow, predictable increases to its final size. A two-color i-cord bind off finishes the longest side of the triangle. Our kits use two strands of (the brand new!) Silky Cat, held together as one yarn for the project.
