📣 HEARTFELT POST INCOMING

Behind every find, every listing, every thrift trip, and every crazy idea is a real person and lately, I’ve been reminded just how much “why” matters.❤️

I’ve been rebuilding Super Geeked with a little more intention lately. I’ve been a thrifter and reseller for decades, and this business has always been about so much more than selling stuff. It’s about the thrill of the hunt, finding the pieces nobody else noticed, giving forgotten things another life, and connecting with people who get just as excited about the hunt as I do.

But right now, this little business means something even more personal.

My grandpa is on hospice, and I’m caring for him. ❤️ So I’m pouring my energy into rebuilding Super Geeked…not just because I love what I do, but because I want this business to help support him and our family during this season of life.

It’s a lot. Some days are messy. Some days I’m exhausted. And some days, finding an amazing vintage piece feels like exactly the little spark of joy I needed.

So if you’ve been here for a long time, thank you for sticking around. And if you’re new here, welcome! I’m so grateful you are here!

I’m still thrifting.
I’m still hunting.
I’m still reselling.
I’m still creating.
And I’m still getting Super Geeked over the weird, wonderful, one-of-a-kind things I find.

Because every find has a story—and right now, I’m working on writing a new chapter of mine.❤️

THRIFTERS—DON’T WALK PAST THESE BAGS! 👀💰

Ever spotted a heavily embroidered vintage bag and wondered, “Is that metal thread… and is it actually worth something?” 👀

It might be! ✨

That metallic embroidery can be zari, a traditional South Asian/Southeast Asian-style metallic threadwork technique. And when you see intricate zardozi embroidery, especially paired with genuine gemstones, you may have found something with serious resale potential.

I paid just under $20 for this one at a local antique store, Mississippi Roots, LLC Estate Liquidation and I knew exactly why I was buying it. 😉

The last piece like this I sold went for $80 on Mercari

So next time you’re thrifting, estate saling, or digging through an antique shop, keep your eyes peeled for intricate embroidery, metallic zari thread, and gemstone embellishments. That “weird old bag” might just be the thing everyone else walked right past. 💰

Instead of setting a timer for my nighttime Dew of the Gods face mask, I’m setting a different kind of goal tonight…

✨ LIST 20 ITEMS ON VINTED. ✨

I finally opened a Vinted shop, and I think I’ve figured out what might be its BEST use for us resellers: the Stale-mates. 😂

You know the stuff. The things that have been sitting around FOREVER. The items that have been listed, relisted, cross-listed, discounted, relisted again… and still refuse to find a new home.

Rather than donating it back and writing it off as a loss on my taxes, I’m giving Vinted a shot as my garage-sale-style outlet.

I’m not going into this expecting top dollar. I’m going in hoping to turn some stale inventory into making my money back, some freed-up storage space, and a little less inventory staring at me every day. 😂 And if I’m lucky, I’ll still turn a tiny profit.

So… 20 listings is the goal. I’ll report back and let you know how this little experiment goes!

Have you tried Vinted? Reseller or not, what has your experience been?

I’m especially curious because Vinted still feels like it’s in its infancy here, and they’ve REALLY turned up the marketing. Their visibility seems to be through the roof right now which is giving me some serious Whatnot-in-the-early-days vibes.

I don’t sleep much these days… so instead of letting my mind race, I’m choosing productivity. 😴➡️💻

Tonight’s project? Giving my Etsy shop some love.

Etsy isn’t my hottest-selling platform, BUT it has a loyal vintage community that knows their stuff. My sales may be slower there, but when something sells, they’re often higher-dollar sales—sometimes items that have been sitting on my other platforms waiting for the right buyer.

So tonight I tackled something that has been driving me CRAZY: Etsy thumbnail photos!

Etsy crops photos differently depending on where they appear, which can mean awkward crops, cut-off products, and less appealing search results.

So I created a simple Canva template with plenty of padding, removed the backgrounds, and centered every item.

Was it time-consuming? Yep.
Was it complicated? Nope.

And LOOK at the difference! 👀✨

Will this increase my Etsy sales? I have NO idea. 😂 But I’m going to find out!

And hey, at least my shop looks A LOT more aesthetically pleasing now!

Come thrift with me at Goodwill in Oakwood, Ohio—one of the wealthiest areas near Dayton!🛍️

I went on a road trip to Dayton and, of course, I had to stop at a thrift store! I found an AMAZING fall fashion foundation haul, including trendy styles, faux leather, corduroy, all in fall-themed colors, plus incredible vintage finds that I can’t wait to resell online.

In this thrift haul, I’m sharing everything I found, what I paid, why I picked it up, and what I expect it to sell for based on sold comps. And spoiler alert… one pair of corduroy pants already sold for $44 in just TWO days! Don’t sleep on corduroy!

At the end is a bonus item I picked up at local antique store Mississippi Roots, to flip online. Last one of these I sold for $80 over on Mercari!

You go out of town with your kids and instead of sightseeing…you hit the thrift store!

I had my trusty assistants helping me hunt, film, and, of course, cause some mischief! 😂

The Oakwood, OH Goodwill is on the smaller side, but don’t let that fool you… I ALWAYS seem to find something good here! 🙌

And a fun fact: this location is part of the Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley family of stores, so your thrifted treasure is helping support their mission, too. ❤️

Small store. Big treasure-hunting energy. And yes… I found some GOOD stuff. 👀

My SUPERpower is believing every thrift store is hiding a treasure with my name on it. 😅

Three things I’m really good at:

✔️ Going to thrift stores
✔️ Spending money
✔️ Spending money at thrift stores

Some call it a shopping problem. I prefer to call it inventory acquisition. 😌

At this point, I can’t decide if I’m a reseller, a full-time finder of things I didn’t know I needed until I scored them, or just a professional treasure hunter with a tax deduction.

Anyone else walk into thrift store for “just for a look” and leave with a cart full of future plans? 🙋‍♀️
